11/12 Eddie AMPS 356 +3 365 +6 340 PMPS 221 +2 142

Remember you're following TR guidelines for increases. So he's not yet been on 9.5U dose long enough to consider an increase. He's seeing blue, hopefully green soon!, so you'll hold at least 8 cycles.

You are overanalyzing my dear! That's within meter variance, it's flat.

Remember the bounce breaking cycles can take longer to nadir, so it's still possible he may come down later. Not sure.

Awww, Jodey. It’s hard not to microanalyze, I know, but this is only, what, the third cycle on 9.5u? Sometimes we have to talk ourself away from the ledge when we see a high number. :bighug:

Unless you see a low number, your job right now is to collect data and sit on your hands. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to repeat that to myself over the years. All you do is shoot yourself in the foot if you react to every number, and you end up in a tailspin. Not to mention that you actually slow down positive progress. (And we prefer people to have a fully intact feet and not be dizzy, so there’s that, too, lol). :)

So let’s reprogram your brain …
Patience = on
Microanalysis = off
DeepBreaths = always!

You'll get there, Grasshopper.
(I’ve been following along quietly; heading back into the woodwork now)

Pet meters are generally allowed 15% variance, human meters 20%. Any number within that range is just considered variance...so if you ran that test at +3 on two more test strips, you'd probably get one a bit below AMPS, possibly another quite a bit higher, etc. Average them out, basically flat.

If you want to feel better, look at my spreadsheet starting at diagnosis. He was in high numbers for SO LONG, and he's ok now! I know they're disappointing to see, especially after the addictive greens and blues, but they happen. He's showing really good progress lately, just breathe :bighug:

One of my weird guilty pleasures is fast-scrolling through spreadsheets. Do that to Eddie's. You can visually see the change from pink/red/black down to more of these lovely blues and greens. It's the overall trend over time, don't get too caught up in the day to day :)

I did just look at your spreadsheet! What happened in March? When did you start Cabergoline? Is Mr. Kitty still on it?

Pancreatitis. I have two theories - one is that the inflammation/infection was keeping his numbers higher so treating that helped bring him down, and/or the inflammation/infection "distracted" the antibodies to go deal with that and it let more insulin through.

We started cabergoline in July, and he was in remission within two weeks. He is still on cabergoline, although half the typical dose and double the length of time. He developed pleural effusion right when we started it; consensus was the two aren't related, BUT there are studies in humans showing cabergoline can cause pleural effusion, though rare. So we're hoping the dose is low enough that it doesn't cause the effusion, and can still hold off some of the other acro side effects

Just want to say, again, @JL and Chip , thank you. We've come down a little and I'm reprogramming. :)

Just did PMPS +2 142. So, I'm taking a page from @FrostD yesterday regarding PMPS: "The usual, grab a +2/3 and see where he's headed. And a small snack if it's a decent drop."

I thought that +2 142 was a decent drop from PMPS 221 (and all the rest of the day) and so I gave a teaspoon of LC snack. Will set alarm and do a recheck in a couple hours.

I would also feed a snack at +3.,
