11/11 Acro Snuggie needs dosing advice pls!

Hi all! I hope everyone and their kitties are doing well! It’s been a while since my last post…

Snuggie was cruising along GREAT and sliding down the dosing scale. We had him perfectly in low yellows/blues for some time til the yellows and blues bith started increasing (Note: my goal is to just get him in blue numbers bc he’s much happier when he’s not being poked all the time out of hypo fear, and my mental health is also much better also.)

Sunday I decided to bump him from 7.5 to 8… the day got busy and I forgot a mid cycle test til AM+11- I felt horrid when it was 127, and assumed he had gone way lower for nadir. His numbers climbed and I assumed it was a bounce but now we are in the 400s and even had a 500. UGHHH!

he has no signs of UTI, skin infection, etc so I’m sure it’s the tumor acting up.

We are following TR and I increased to 8 (mostly fat doses) but I want to stay ahead of the tumor growth. I increased him today to 8.5… maybe it was too early? How soon can I increase again? And to what dose?

his weigh is stable but we do have room to safely increase cabergoline if needed.

I’m glad all is well. I’d give the 8.5 a chance to work. Hold for 6 cycles. I can’t help with the cab so I hope one of the others reply soon. :bighug:

Thank you! I’m so upset we are so suddenly in these high numbers again, but I guess that’s the nature of the beast!
 
What's his weight, cab dose, concentration, and how often? I wouldn't go much above the 10mcg/kg every day or every other day. Like Elise said I'd hold the dose and give it time to work, I also don't think skinny/fat really applies at higher doses lol

Hi!!
He’s 13lb and holding steady. He gets 0.75mL every other day, concentrates at 100 mcg/mL. I think the vet said we had room to play and could increase a little more but doesn’t seem to want to give it daily. I think Wendy may have replied to me a while back with an article saying it’s OK to give daily - I just need to find it.

OK I’ll hold at 8.5, I think the “fat” dosing just made me feel better. It was probably more like 8.25 - he has shown to be sensitive enough to the 0.25 increments at this range of doses on occasion, depending on the tumor growth.

How’s your kitty doing?
