All the kitties are good right now - even the foster kittens who were sick with who knows what last week are eating again and playing again and have normal stool instead of diarrhea. Hooray! I was so afraid I would have to take them to the vet. Can’t afford any more vet bills!Boo is my little night owl. Only wants to come out at night but I did manage to introduce him to my living room yesterday. He was nervous, of course. I walked him (in my arms) by my dogs and he hissed and tried to get away. I think the dog thing is going to take a while. He will sleep with me at night and if I don't pet him just right he will grab my arm and bite it - not hard though. He wants to play in the middle of the night and I want to sleep. When I'm lying in bed he will sometimes walk up to me and stare at my face. Like he is trying to figure out if I am awake. He is a sweet, curious, playful cat and seems much younger than four. Thank you for asking, Suzanne. How is Ginger and your other furballs?
That poem is great.
Molly Pop looks curious but really doesn't do anything. Kali actually backed away from him twice at the baby gate which made me laugh. She is the big "intimidator" and I am worried that when they are together she will chase Boo. The rescue said it could be 4 to 6 weeks to get the cat and dogs acclimated to one anotherThat’s funny about Boo. I hope he can get over his fear of the dogs soon. I wonder what the best way to do that (help him overcome his fear) is? How do the dogs behave when they see him ?
Thank you, Carla. Me too!I hope Boo and the dogs get used to each other soon.
Thanks, Gina. Poor Bama decided to bounce to the moon. I was afraid something like that might happen because the greens are so rare for him. That poem is great.
The dogs just got very curious looking at him. Ears up - eyes wide opened. I stopped briefly to show my mom who had the dogs around her and that is when he scratched me and hissed. I walked by quickly. Yes, little love bites and I do have to pet him just right. He took a nap with me earlier sleeping very close to my stomach. Got nervous when the garbage truck went by and bolted back under the bed where he still remainsWhat a nice poem summer
I'm happy to hear Boo sleeps with you at night, it's so funny though what he does
like he's staring at you. He's giving you love bites
You better pet him just right
I hope he will get along with the dogs soon and not be afraid, I'm sure it will take more time. What did the dogs do when they saw you carrying Boo
. At least he was out for a short while this morning.Thank you! Love the picture of your Little Man. Good luck on this journey with him. You will get great support from the folks on this site.I wish we had a love button not just like. That is a beautiful poem! So very true too! Thankyou for sharing!

You are never alone on this site. Thanks for saying Susie was beautiful. She truly was. Inside and out and she is very missed. I don't know how I would have managed her diabetes without this site. Unfortunately, she developed other serious medical issues and I could not save her.Thankyou for the complement on picture! He has a thing with laundry...have a couple photos of him in dryer after I've taken clothes out LOL!
Your Susie was beautiful I'm sorry for the loss! And yes the ppl here are truly a life saver for me. I stumbled across this board just searching for info on fd. So happy I did I feel so much less alone now!
It is always a hard thing when it's more than their sweet bodies can handle! I've lost a couple sweet babies over years and it's never easy and they are always missed even as we move forward. I read you have a sweet new Boo! How exciting! You are never alone on this site. Thanks for saying Susie was beautiful. She truly was. Inside and out and she is very missed. I will never understand why vets don't absolutely encourage home testing - especially at pre shot. Mine made sure I knew how to do it but never pushed me. One of the vet techs pushed me and said that getting over my fear of testing was better than losing her. It was hard at first but then she was just the best kitty during testing. She took the testing and the shots like a pro. God bless her. Hard for me to talk about Susie. Yes, I have a new cat but that doesn't erase the pain of her loss.It is always a hard thing when it's more than their sweet bodies can handle! I agree about managing fd without this site, I feel would be impossible. I've had literally no communication from my vet other than stay the course at the 1u I'll see on the 19th for fructosamine test! She didnt think me testing was a good idea either. Then I find he is in the 400s and occasionally 300s. I've increased him twice now and starting to see slightly better numbers because of this wonderful site and the folks on it! I even sent my vet the spreadsheet never got a return call!

No, I never thought you implied that Susie's loss was forgotten. We do never forget. Yes, my new little guy is going to bring a different aspect to this quiet household. I can tell he is going to be a "force to be reckoned with". He is already showing "balls" with dealing with my dogs and he is just a slight little sliver of a cat with a powerful personality. Not something we have seen in a cat here in years. I am excited to see what will unfold. That is great that you have a vet like that I know its rare!
No a new baby never erases the baby we lost ever. Forever in our hearts and waiting for us at the rainbow bridge. I didnt mean to imply that just that new kitty is so exciting![]()

That's such great news Summer! I wish I could have seen Molly and Boo sniffing each other. What kind of did is Molly?Yea for little breakthroughs. I just walked back to my bedroom to see if Boo was out and he was. He jumped down from by bed headboard to greet me on the bed. Molly Pop was with me so I let her in through the baby gate and she trotted over to Boo and they sniffed each other, briefly. Boo backed up but didn't hiss or strike out. Molly proceeded to walk around the room to see if she could find some tidbits somewhere then went over to look at Boo again. Boo did great and was very curious about Molly. I didn't want to push it so I got Molly back out of the room. So, one dog down and one to go.

Molly is a 12 1/2 year old golden retriever. She has always been a gentle soul and grew up with five other cats over the years. Boo will be her sixth. That's such great news Summer! I wish I could have seen Molly and Boo sniffing each other. What kind of did is Molly?
Had another breakthrough with Boo and Kali yesterday. I let Kali in the room with Boo. Boo was more nervous with Kali. Hissed at her but did not run off. Kali was a little afraid of Boo which I found funny considering the size difference. Kali was walking around the room sniffing everything and Boo ran across the bed toward Kali stalking her. I think this small kitty might be able to hold his own but I will keep a close eye on them for a while. I know Boo is bored being stuck in my bedroom. Today or tomorrow I will see if I can bring the baby gate down and take Boo into the other parts of our home with the dogs. Wish me luck! That is so great!
Thanks Sumner for posting this wonderful poem

Hope your mom is doing well. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. We are doing okay. Boo is bringing some happiness and laughter back into my heart. I haven't had a cat like him in a long time. He truly loves attention. I guess that is because he was found as a stray. I think of you often too, Adrienne. I hope you are okay. Thanks Sumner for posting this wonderful poemHappy to hear that Boo and Kali might be warming up to each other, a few hisses and some distance. Hope you are doing well. Think of you often.
Hope your mom is doing well.

More great news Summer ,Kali is your foxhound right , too funny that Boo ran across the bed stalking Kali. Molly is truly a beautiful soul. Not a mean bone in her body unless I bring in another dog and she gets very jealous. Yes, Kali is my foxhound. Much younger than Molly and much more high strung. It was funny watching Boo run across the bed to stalk Kali. I brought Boo into my Mom's living room this morning. Molly was around but I made sure Kali was outside. Boo was nervous which is to be expected. He didn't spend a lot of time in there and was still nervous with Molly around. Boo didn't stay long in the living room and ran back into the bedroom. I just tried to attach pictures of both my dogs but I have a heck of a time doing that on this website.More great news Summer ,Kali is your foxhound right , too funny that Boo ran across the bed stalking Kali.
