11/8 Milo AMPS 492, +5 HI

Here's your previous post

I read your posting on the FD group and I'm glad to see you posting here instead since we're not supposed to give dosing advice on Facebook. I also understand your vet is pressuring you to go up from 2U (his original starting dose) to 3U and can see what's going on via the Libre.

I think you could go up to 1.25. Yes, this is faster than our strict protocol advises, but with him being stuck in those high numbers and the amount of testing you can do with the Libre, I think it's safe to fast track him a little...at least get him out of those blacks.

When we start seeing some mid-cycle numbers under 300, we'd definitely want to slow down and go back to .25 unit increases.

Be sure you're testing for ketones too! If you get a ketone test, put the result in the "Remarks" part of your spreadsheet.

I will up to 1.25 for tonights shot! i will check Keotones next time he goes to the bathroom.

I came home on work break to check his levels and i am staying home the rest of the day to monitor him. I just checked his litter box, and there seems to be diarrhea ... I have two kitties so i can't confirm who it was, but it was my sugar kitty, what does this indicate??

Have you tried a new food or flavor?
So after i posted this i went to clean the box after he used it- and it was in fact pee.. i just switched litters and i was used to the way the pee clumps. He also had a normal healthy seeming poop in front of me .. But Yes also we have switched new foods- we are on friskies pate now that fancy feast pate is hard to come by.

With those numbers, I don't think you would have any problem going up by 0.5 to 1.25 units. He's being monitored closely and those numbers do have to come down.

So instead of changing from .75u to 1.25u tonight it could go to 1.5u? I fully trust all moderators when it comes to dosing, I'm just confirming :)

I'm sorry Ava. I thought I typed 1.25... My bad.
Another excellent reason why this is handled in a peer reviewed forum- so that people can pick up mistakes like that.
