Hi all!

Quick curious question. It seems little man's bg is down more over evening hours and stays higher during daytime hours. Simply just why? Is there a reason, is this something cats do?

Anyway I'm plodding along, taking everyone's advice (trying not to panic overnight). So appreciative of all of you!

Hi Rainbow,

Here is your last post for continuity: https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/pmps-331-2-284.255193/#post-2874169

Kitties do like to go low at night and go higher during the day. We're not sure why. It seems to be common for even humans to do this, called the Dawn Phenomenon. Ruby does this, and it suits me well because she stays higher and therefore safer during the day when we work.

That makes sense to me thankyou! Of course doesnt that make sleeping at night a bit harder to be focused for work? :cat:

We manage. This is where higher carb food and an automatic feeder comes in very handy.

I am looking into investing in auto feeder. Right now my system is to prepare food before bed in small lidded containers keep in room on top of ice pack and just get up and take lid off bowl and go back to bed. So I guess that means right now I'm the auto feeder.

Yep. I endorse a feeder to change that. I never was a good sleeper before fd and never after.

I havent been a good sleeper either not for a very long time...

My biggest issue is the fear right now and I know his numbers frankly we are a ways off of being even too concerned overnight right now. If I had an auto feeder I wouldnt have even checked his bg last night at +6...but I got up to feed and was overcome with worry so tested... I also have guilt for putting him through it to be honest poor guy being poked just cause momma is scared.
