Thickened skin where I'm injecting?

Hi,
Over the past couple weeks I've noticed that Misty's skin between her shoulders, where I always inject her insulin, has thickened. I feel a ridge when I pet her and definitely notice the difference when tenting for the injection. Is this normal, or should I be worried?

If you always do the injections in the same spot, the area can become thickened. It is a good idea to rotate the spots you inject

That is not that unusual. I rotate my cat's sshot avoid repeat injection in the same are. You can inject along the side and not just the scruff of the neck.

Hi friends! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on the site. Happy to see @Bree and Misty post and @Bron and Sheba response. I too noticed this on my SugarLou recently. So grateful to have this info.
