Good Morning

So reduced Dales dose to 2.25, is it bad for his body to be going to through these lows and then back up to high again? I know this dose is only 3 cycles in, 4 if you count this AM, but this constant going back and forth between doses... and his numbers always fluctuating... I guess we will see how tonight and tomorrow goes but I think we'll be right back at 2.5 units again...

Am I doing something wrong ? Is this what happens for most cats ? Why can't we just get him on a dose and that be OK for him? Instead of constantly changing doses ...

Also, Dale has had diarrhea for the last 2 days, today is start of day 3 and no solid movement, Im giving him Fortiflora and i try to give him s.boularrdi but he detects it in the food but managed to get maybe 1/3 of a capsule in him yesterday. Should I try to give him some pure pumpkin ??

You are not doing anything wrong. He’s just not used to having bg that low so his little body releases glucose thinking it’s needed. It’s not bad for him. It’s part of the fd dance. The bounces usually are less extreme and often stop once he gets used to lower and lower bg. It’s called a dance because for most a single constant dose just doesn’t work. If too low insulin resistance can set in and you will need to increase by more than ever. Too low and he could go hypo.

I gave pumpkin to Max. Try 1 tsp twice a day.

Okay thank you. I didn't realize it would be a constant changing of doses... I do hope we can find some stability in his dosing eventually.

I'm going to try the pumpkin, hope it helps.

I am going away for 2 weeks soon here, so my hubby will be taking care of Dale and he won't be able to test during cycles, he will just be doing preshot tests and if I convince him to test before bed, but I'll have to have him at a dose that will be safe too. I leave on the 15th - 29th.
