Happy Labor Day! Although I am going in to work for a few hours this morning, at least I get most of the day off.

Poop question - You'd think that with all of this wet food these boys would be pooping easily. Shooter (diabetic) poops daily but it's been DARK brown, Koda (pancreatitis) poops maybe every other day and it's really light brown and much fuller (I need to get a GI panel still), and Pepper seems to go once every few days or once a week and when he does it's a big pile. I mix all their food up in one bowl with added water and whatever supp's then divide it out between their 3 bowls. Each meal is one can FF with water, 1/8 tsp Healthy Gut, 1/8 tsp Miralax and 6 drops Kidney Support Gold 3 x's a day divided between them all. They also get a couple snacks of just plain FF w/water. Is this not enough Miralax? I'm pretty sure they should all be pooping once a day, shouldn't they?

Not necessarily. I've read here that cats on raw food (for e.g.) do not poop every day.

I don’t know if there is a standard for how much cats should poop but I think the more frequently, the better. Both my kitties are on raw and my civvie poops everyday or every other day and whereas Ruby is chronically constipated. Her doctors say that if she doesn’t go in 5 days that it’s time for a vet visit.

Can you give different doses of Miralax to your cats or do they all eat from each other’s bowls? Miralax is dose to effect so you might want to give more, increasing in 1/16 tsp increments, to your constipated kitty. You can also mix with water and syringe if you can’t separate the food. Does Pepper seem to be in any distress?

My guys eat a combination of raw and a high protein novel protein diet. They generally poop every other day. A lot depends on your cat's individual metabolism.

Sometimes he poops outside the box. I can't help but wonder if he's associating being constipated with the litter box. I've been trying to write down who goes when but the cat cam doesn't always seem to capture movement 100% of the time.
