9/5 Max AMPS 156 +2 181 +4 194 +8 294 PMPS 361 +2 348

You can stall and test again and feed and shoot if he is coming up as long as you can monitor today and have plenty of supplies. I cannot stay with you. I didn't sleep well last night and am barely awake. I need to go back to sleep.

If you can monitor, you can shoot the whole dose. Sometimes stalling causes numbers to drop without food.

144-146 is within meter variance of 156

I can stay with you through the first few hours of the cycle.

Okay thank you. I will monitor. Thanks for sticking around. Max has been hard for me to determine what’s happening with him. Thanks again.

Don't fill him up - in case you need him to eat small meals through the first part of the cycle to keep him surfing.
Let's see where he is at +2.

Okay got it. I will do that. He bounces a lot and I can’t figure out how to stop that and keep him stable. Thank you for your help Bhooma.:)

Yes Suzanne, Bhooma was so kind to help me out. I’m still learning. Thank you for checking on Max! He’s acted like he feels better today. Hope you have a good day!

Wonderful blues today, glad you shot the full dose.

Just for future reference, the size of dose does not make a difference in a decision about shooting. A cat needs however much insulin he needs. The size of dose doesn't impact how the cycle will play out, if it's a good dose for that cat. I've seen people with cats on higher doses shoot much lower numbers. Lantus (and Levemir) are great at giving you a nice flat cycle when you shoot those lower numbers. As you get more data when you shoot Max on lower numbers, you will see what he does with those lower preshots. I'm quite happy that he held onto those blues a little longer, instead of bouncing right away like he did the night of the 2nd.

At some point soon, it'll be time to consider an increase. Blues are nice, but high greens are even better. Especially since those lower nadirs usually means he's not bouncing as high either.

Thank you

Yes, I’ve just got to learn a bit more and become a little more comfortable with his numbers getting lower and higher doses of insulin. I’m happy that he’s responding to it now.
