Just for future reference, the size of dose does not make a difference in a decision about shooting. A cat needs however much insulin he needs. The size of dose doesn't impact how the cycle will play out, if it's a good dose for that cat. I've seen people with cats on higher doses shoot much lower numbers. Lantus (and Levemir) are great at giving you a nice flat cycle when you shoot those lower numbers. As you get more data when you shoot Max on lower numbers, you will see what he does with those lower preshots. I'm quite happy that he held onto those blues a little longer, instead of bouncing right away like he did the night of the 2nd.
At some point soon, it'll be time to consider an increase. Blues are nice, but high greens are even better. Especially since those lower nadirs usually means he's not bouncing as high either.
