Ugh, bad night last night. Between Susie going low and all the storms we had I did not get much sleep (thanks, Molly Pop). With her lower AMPS this morning I don't know if I will be able to sneak a nap in later this morning. Have a huge grocery delivery coming between noon and 2:00. I think I'm going to be very tired today (already am). :arghh: Maybe she will bounce. I'm still waiting for that from two days ago.

Now, my question is, what in Susie's numbers from yesterday's am cycle would have forewarned me about the drop last night? Honestly, I don't see anything. :banghead:

Like Diane says, "Susie is like a box of chocolates". You never know what you are going to get.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected Susie to have greens last night either. I think she has decided to stop bouncing. Now you need to get used to the nice numbers and learn how to feed to keep her level.

I don't see anything either from yesterday's numbers that would indicate a drop last night. However, the +2 last night was an indication she was going to be active. I hope she keeps surfing safely today.

More surprises from Susie. I would be shocked if the bouncing were over. I think I do pretty good with the food although I gave her 2 tsps of h/c at +4 when she was at 66. I wanted to lie down an hour. She came up quite a bit to 91 at +5.2. But, last night when she was at 60 at +5 I also gave her 2 tsps of h/c and she only came up to 71 after two hours. I guess I can't really count on anything being the same with her.

I agree. The +2 is always the most important indicator as to where she is going to go. At least it is for me on the Lantus.

Pretty soon, you will have a lot of blues and greens and you will need to trust Susie will stay safe. Remember the saying, "Shoot low to stay low."

Susie is doing great!!!

I'm happy to see all those blues and greens, but very sorry you are not getting any sleep. I hope you manage to catch some solid shut eye. Everything is so much harder when you're tired.

Good morning / afternoon sweet Summer. This is Susie’s third day in a row of great numbers. I had an increase planned for Dolly this morning and she gave me her lowest AMPS in weeks. I settled on a fat dose, not my favorite, hard to measure consistently. I hope Susie gives you a break today so you can rest. Sending prayers that she cooperates tomorrow while you are out with your mom. :cat: I hope the doctor see’s some positive progress with her health. Have a good day Summer, well wishes for your mom. Surf safely little Susie  :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I've had problems with the "Shoot low to stay low". A few struggles getting her numbers up even with lots of m/c and h/c.

Well, sounds like Dolly was reading your mind about the increase. I don't like the fats or skinny's either for the same reason - consistency. Hope the fat helps bring Dolly down a touch. Mom may be going to the doctor herself tomorrow. We recently got her some medicine to help raise her blood pressure and it is really helping her. She doesn't feel "loopy" anymore, is stronger and has a little more energy (thank goodness). Have a really nice Thursday afternoon, Adrienne. By the way, you don't have to worry about the fires do you? I think they are farther north of where you live.

So glad to hear your mom is doing better. Fires are far away from us. Our life is literally scheduled around Dolly. No appointments until afternoon. Except….I have a doctors appointment coming up in a few weeks where I have to leave by 10:30 am. Rob will be here and can test since my accident but doesn’t like to. He has never directly dealt with a hypo and Dolly hasn’t dropped below 50 since mid July. I don’t think she’s ever dropped below 40. Have a good day Summer. Get some rest.

If you feel like you are having trouble keeping her safe, then maybe a reduction will be in the cards soon.
I haven't had a day, in a while, where I struggled to keep her up with food and I always (almost) took a reduction if she fell below 50. Once, I didn't when I was told not to do back-to-back reductions. We are okay. The bounce is back. Maybe I will sleep tonight.

Susie stopped eating tonight. Now, I am really worried. This cat has almost always had a healthy appetite. Too many days in low numbers????? Any advice would be appreciated but I do plan on going to bed soon. I am exhausted.

I'm not sure that these last few days have been so wonderful. She has stopped eating and now is at 334 at +2 tonight. Maybe I will back off on the insulin a tad. Doesn't seem right to push her into the greens when her bounces are dangerous with the renal glucose toxicity and overstepping the renal threshold. Just tired and don't know what to do anymore.

Just get some rest tonight Summer and tomorrow you can see with fresh eyes and a rested mind. Her bounce into the pink tonight - it just happens like this sometime. She won't stay there long. Pearl would do that on occasion also, at a time when I felt she was really making progress towards being regulated and getting more blue numbers on a steady basis. So don't worry she is in good company! :bighug:
