We suggest a snack at +9 to bring down the amps. I think she is ready for an otj trial but can you see that she gets a +9 snack? I’m going to run this by a few others. She’s been green since the skip which is great. Give the drop tonight and I will be back about tomorrow.

Ok well +9 would be 5am since her amps is 8am right ? And I already gave her her pm shot so illl wait to see for the morning
What should I expect going on otj trial and do wat testing should I do ..?
Omggggg never thought this day would happend !!!!!!!
I will give you the otj directions as soon as a few others agree with me that it’s time. Exciting. As soon as I get confirmation I will let you know. She does need a green preshot to start.
If you get a blue PS, get a test 3 hours later to see if she comes back to green?
And for the next day or two, please get at least one test in the AM and PM cycle?
We want to be 100% sure of her numbers before considering an OTJ trial. You want a strong remission so better not to rush it.
Ohhhhhhhh lololol okkkkk !!!!!got ahead of myself Tested this morning she’s at 88 . I’ll do a couple test during the day and let u guys know !!! Can u tell me how many times would I have to test during 14 days …. Just trying to figure out if I should install a new libre or just strip it
I think you can skip it. During the OTJ trial you would test twice a day - AMBG and PMBG. However, if you get a blue number at either test, you test again after 3 hours to see if it drops to green.
No curve needed. I am going to give you the OTJ Directions later today. If green at +3 and at PMPS I think you can start either tonight or tomorrow morning. How does that sound?
If she is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time; just feed small meals and go about your day. If she is blue at your normal "PS", feed a small meal and test again after about 3 or 4 hours. If her BG is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then the pancreas is working!
Post every day so we can monitor her progress and see if any tweaks are needed. She may have a sporadic blue number. Don't panic but post before you decide whether to shoot so we can have a discussion.
After 14 days of no insulin, we have a party!!
Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens; we just give her the support needed. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.
Once she is through the trial successfully, you enter a new phase. Money is still diabetic but has now become diet-controlled. Continue feeding low carb food in the manner successful for your kitty. If you decide to change her feeding schedule, let your meter be your guide to the best times to feed. Avoid medications with sugar in them and steroid medications unless they are medically essential. Continue testing blood glucose weekly for the first month and then monthly forever. It's a good idea to weigh her monthly. Weight should remain stable. If she seems "off" or sick, or is showing signs of diabetes (excessive drinking, eating, urinating, weight loss), test her blood glucose right away. Keep the teeth and gums clean and healthy; dental issues can bring a cat out of remission. If you see rising blood glucose numbers, it's time for a visit to the vet!
