Hello,
Long time no post for me and Maki. We hope all your furbabies are doing well.
Just giving an update since many of you care intently for Maki during our hypo and as we tapered.
First thank you so much for saving our kitty. Without y'all, I am pretty sure she would not have made it. You whipped me into a testing, food selecting, and insulin administering machine over 2 months. We will still test but only a few times a week. Generally Maki's sugars are 70-110. We only administer lantus once a week or less. Rarely is she higher than 105. So is that ok? Ok that I haven't pushed to get consistenly below 80? Any damage I am doing with the infrequent testing and insulin? I have tried reading but not finding much on sporadic testing and dosing.
Maki was getting really adverse to daily testing and it seemed prudent to cut her a break, but I can't help wonder if I am not doing the best for her.
Much kitty love,
Patricia
I don't remember how to include her spreadsheet.
