8/16 Juggie amps 313 pmps 310

I guess he is compensating for the beautiful blues over the weekend!
I’m not sure what’s up with him :(
His mops was 310, and he’s not eating. Well he’s eating a little but he’s not emptying his bowl like usual. Normally I get home from work and his bowl is empty and I have to give him a 1/4 can but today he still had lots. Even at shot time I fed him and he just had a little nibble then walked away.

How much has he eaten all day?

Their appetites reduce once they start seeing better numbers. They aren't ravenously hungry like they were when first diagnosed.

I would guess 1 can plus some chicken breast that I gave his brother and he ate the remainder. He doesn’t seem hungry, no “feed me” meowing I was just concerned because he usually eats 2+ cans by now

The loss of appetite is only today? Let's see how much he eats tonight.

He looks okay otherwise? Does he eat less in warmer weather?

I’ve noticed a few times now that there is food left over in his bowl when it used to be licked clean. He seems completely fine, alert, frisky, wanting to go for walks outside, bathing himself and me, sitting in the window being a snoop (his favourite thing to do). The only thing off is that he’s not polishing off his food like he used to. since pm shot I’ve heard him go eat a few more times so it seems he’s just having little meals here and there. Yes he does seem to eat less when it’s hot but it’s cooler and gloomy today.

side note, so since diagnosis I have noticed that juggies fur has become so much softer. It I’m used to be coarse and now it’s so soft when I pet him but also, he’s had two big bald spots on his neck from a collar that irritated him. Had them for a few years now and vet said some cats just don’t grow it back… I noticed tonight it’s growing back. Like almost all grown in. Do you know why? Could it be the methyl b12, the positive effect of insulin? Whatever the reason it’s nice to see him getting healthier since finding you guys :bighug:

He sounds like he is doing well! His appetite is probably lower with better numbers. Same for his fur. It gets coarse and dull with unregulated diabetes and improves once the blood sugar is brought down. Hopefully his neuropathy will also improve. It took a few months with Bandit - that and the weight gain.
