FCC AMPS 83, +3 79, PMPS 79, +2 72

I hope everyone is doing well with their furry friends. I changed my meter to the Bravo this morning and I hope it doesn't throw everything off. His AMPS was 4.6

Just for comparisons sake I got the following reading variation when I used them on myself (I did three tests):
Accuchek: 5.7, 6.0, 5.7
Bravo: 5.0, 5.1, 4.7

I don't know if that means the Bravo meter will always read lower or how much of an effect this will have on FCC. It is unfortunate that I didn't have quite enough strips to finish the day out.

Thank you!

Don't worry about it. The AMPS seems to be at similar levels to what he was on the Accuchek.

Let's see what he does today :-)

Hi, A. I'm looking forward to seeing FCC's +2 or +3. Hope you and he are well.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope Susie is surfing. I haven't looked at your spreadsheet yet. FCC currently has the zoomies. His agility has gotten better and it wasn't particularly hampered before.

Oh my goodness. I would love to see Susie with the zoomies but it will never happen. She is just too laid back. When I had my other kitty she would chase her but Mia has been gone a long time and Susie doesn't have another kitty friend to harass. I would love to get her a friend but I just can't afford all the vet bills I have with Susie, Molly Pop and Kali. Maybe someday. So glad your boy has the zoomies. Means he is feeling better!

Yes. His zoomies have been starting for the last few weeks, but just yesterday he made two jumps that I don't recall him doing before. I was really happy. FCC wants to chase Typewriter and tries, but the civvie is a grumpy gus and has years on him so it doesn't work. Occasionally he gets smacked. I always try and intervene. Friends don't always work out! Maybe Susie will get one that does some day, but I think your friendship is the most important part.

It sounds like he’s feeling great and the bg confirms.

I think so, it makes me happy to seem him get sprier as he goes. It's a step up from just having more energy. I am so glad that he is doing better and we'll see what it takes to get him on track later, but I feel good about where he's headed.

Thank you guys so much. I can't say it enough.

Also, I am sorry. I just realized I had put my AMPS in the world number format. I'm usually pretty good at remembering where to put the US numbers. He seems flat and I assume this is a good sign? I know his depot must be depleted if not now then soon. I need to get a better handle on the green numbers. I know it says somewhere on here that normal levels are between 50-80 and he still goes above 80 fairly regularly.

FCC's PMPS is 79 which is the same as his +3.

If I can only test his AMPS tomorrow should he still get his last dose before I leave or should I leave it after tonight?
He was super...feisty...during this test. I wasn't sure I was going to get it. Which means I should maybe try for a +2 because I can see the potential for multiple failed attempts

I'm wondering if you could go down to the drop dose tomorrow morning and your partner continue it till he is there...If FCC does not eat well in your absence, he could just skip the insulin.

@tiffmaxee

Hmm. I would not shoot more than a drop in the morning and I would not have your partner shoot without testing. He might not want to eat as well while you are gone. When you come back he will either be green and otj or need a little support for awhile. I don’t think he will go high while you are away. I’d feed him some mc with his morning shot and starting tomorrow night just lc.

Have a good time at the reunion and don’t worry. The worst that will happen is he will need juice for a little more time.

Thank you both! After the handsome pain in the neck devil routine he played this evening at test time I am not 100% certain I will be able to get his AMPS. Maybe if I can he should get a drop in the morning and I will try and test him again before I leave (although I am not sure about time yet). After that I'll just let him have the run of the household and re-evaluate upon my return?

He jumped two places last night that impressed me a little. He has gotten a bit spirited this evening.

Field Commander Cohen. I always use his full name when I talk to him with the exception of occasionally referring to him as Fatso or Field Commander Fatso, but I did not think anyone would take kindly to me typing out all those letters.
Lol. Nobody would mind but it would take up a lot of your signature.

I wouldn't want to mess up the symmetry. I do think he suits his long name. Especially now with all the zoomies.

Yes. We can reevaluate when you get back. No predictions from me. Anti jinx.

Okay. I will have no predictions of my own. I am just happy he is feeling better. Should he still be getting bits of food on the +1 and +2 without the insulin? My partner will give it to him then and it will be programmed into the auto feeder, but there is no guarantee as to how he will respond.

LOL! Did he not lose weight when he was diagnosed? Weight loss is a common symptom with FD.

He has become more svelte, but losing weight was definitely not on the radar when I took him to the vet. The last time we weighed him he hadn't even lost any, he's just changed shape a little. I sent a picture to my sister the other day and she commented that I wouldn't be able to call him Fatso anymore.

I’d stick with feeding him the same times.. The mini meals are good fir him. Not knowing how he will respond is why I would not give insulin while you are gone. Even a drop can bring him low.

Okay. That does make sense. Thank you. I think my other cat is still trying to decide how she feels about all these mini meals. She is a bag of bones so I worry she will get too skinny.

FCC seems to be determined to stay flat today and has gone from 79 to 72 at his +2.

I will leave him til his AMPS. I suppose if his numbers follow the same pattern he will get a drop dose and then be free of me for some time. The little guy will be happy.

If I don't see you in the morning, have a great trip. FCC will be great, so enjoy without guilt or worry! Looks like he planned this well! :D
