Yesterday.

Another high day for Ruby. Wondering now if once a day pred was better than twice a day as now she is high in both AM and PM cycles. It could be that breaking up the dose isn't working as well on her inflammation. Increasing dose tomorrow to 2 units.

Hope everyone had a good day. :bighug:

You must have had a busy day, Katherine! But I hope it was good! I think maybe you are right about Ruby's pred... but all you can do is try it one way and then another and see how it goes. Sleep well tonight! Snuggle with kitties.

P.S. I hate seeing Ruby in those numbers !

I did have a busy day and then went out for Spanish tapas and drinks with a friend so came home late. I'm trying to enjoy the summer as much as I can before the onslaught of the fall with everything reopening (if the Delta variant doesn't shut everything down again). I keep hoping that increasing the insulin will do something. We shall see. Thanks for stopping by!

Aw Ruby!

I had wondered if splitting pred would change how it manages the SCL symptoms, but I would have thought oncologist would have said something if he/she (I think she?) thought that might be the case. I know you have a really good oncologist though, perhaps it's just trial and error like Suzanne said.

From what I've seen, the answer is no. I think the goal was to see if the split evened out her blood sugars. Seems to have done, but not necessarily the way you wanted. Having at least some time below renal threshold would be easier on her kidneys, and help in terms of glucose toxicity.

You've been almost two months on prednisolone alone. How long did the oncologist say before evaluating if (I hope when) you add in chlorambucil to treat the SCL?
