Yesterday. :cat:

I took Ruby back up to 1.5 units this morning. I realized in the middle of the night that I was not following my own parameter of reducing 3 times below 50 when I got the lime green the other day. Since Ruby's been running higher anyway, I decided to bring her dose back up.

The overnight snack in the autofeeder seems to be working. I can never be sure of who is eating it, but we haven't had a vomit in two days so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Hope everyone has a beautiful Sunday. :bighug:

Yeah for SEB!

Is she still being testy with Olive? I forgot, perhaps, to mention those calming collars? What about alcohol-free Rescue Remedy?
Good morning Suzanne! :coffee: I have not seen Ruby bullying Olive since the Feliway arrived, so maybe it's working? I have Rescue Remedy for trips to the vet. It still baffles me that she's has been so mean with Olive but has been as sweet as can be with us humans. Yesterday Frank was stuck in his chair for what seemed like an hour with Ruby in his lap, napping and occasionally headbutting him for head rubs. The two of them have really bonded since I've been at work and that is really nice.

It’s all good! I’m happy with this report :p

Hi Katherine, happy to see you bumped Ruby's dose back up, no more vomiting for 2 days that's great. So happy to hear that Frank and Ruby have become beasties!
I hope all the pooping stops . I hope you all have a good night ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Diane. It's either constipation or diarrhea around here and not much in between. :( Changing her food to pork tomorrow so maybe that will help.

I hope the food change helps, sometimes if I give Tyler too much miralax and don't catch him pooping and then I see skid marks on the floor or rug, I know what you mean, I just love cleaning skid marks off the rug. :banghead:

Yeah, it's not much fun! I stopped the Miralax a few days ago. I used to give Ruby Miralax and it did nothing at all, so I wonder if this is too much Miralax or her GI lymphoma causing the runniness. We'll see what happens in a few days.

That's a hallmark of GI inflammation with SCL. :( Changing proteins shouldn't make any difference, unless she has IBD as well.

You noticing any difference with the move to BID pred? In either BG or GI symptoms? Just curious how the experiment is going.

Hi Wendy, I was worried that was the case. It's getting hard to figure out how to manage. Might have to write to her oncologist about it.

Aside from that nice stretch of greens and blues we had the first few days, I haven't noticed a huge difference. She still drops lower at night than during the day, which is a good thing. She's eating a bit more at night than she did on AM pred dosing. Otherwise, there's still some bouncing or GI distress causing higher numbers the last few days. Haven't seen any pinks in a while but we got close this morning. I dunno. ETA: It might take a few weeks to see any real shift.

I haven't seen many people experiment with pred dosing, so just curious how it impacts the BG to do that. Of course, it could be ECID and what Ruby does isn't what others will do. One of my civvies was on 10mg pred, but he weighed a couple more lbs than Ruby, the other was on 4 mg pred, but she's more petite. Seems there isn't consistency on how it's dosed. Both SCL kitties responded fairly quickly to the pred, but also both started chlorambucil either at the same time or shortly thereafter.

I am glad to see she's not losing weight though. That's a good sign.

Yeah, I'm keen to see what will happen. Both of my cats with GI issues gained weight recently, so that's good news all around. An overnight snack appears to be keeping the vomiting at bay and if I can resolve the poop issue all would seem to be well. I am going to wait a few more days and send Ruby's SS to her oncologist and see what she thinks.
