7/29: Dexter 99 @AMPS

Dex was at 99 @AMPS. Gave his
.1 dose. Will do +1 and +2 tests this morning and will leave food out while I'm at work. I'll stop home to do a +6 test during my lunch.

I didn't see the stall request soon enough, so I ended up feeding him. I haven't given him his dose yet though. He's at 53 now.

I was told to go ahead and feed then shoot as long as it's not below 50. It was low carb (tiki cat).

Yes, IN THEORY, any number higher than 50 is good to shoot. But since you are new to this and have not managed a low number situation, I would suggest that you skip.

Good that he's coming up! Getting this +1 shows that with low carb food he doesn't get much of a food bump, so it will be good to arm yourself with medium carb (10-15%) and high carb (>16%) in the meantime for when you are faced with low numbers again. I would get one more test in and then call it a night. Hopefully tomorrow you can get two shots in and try to keep him a little more stable.

54 @ +2. He's eating a little right now. I do have a hypo kit just in case.

I'm working from home tomorrow, so I'll be able to encourage him to eat more and test more. I also ordered 2 autofeeders and they'll be here tomorrow evening, so hopefully that will help regulate him more throughout the day.

@Katie & Dexter To measure a drop dose, push the plunger of the empty syringe in fully, keep it pressed and insert in the pen. Let go of the pressure on the plunger and it will draw a drop. When you insert the needle into Dexter, push the plunger and count to ten if he will let you.
