After trying food after food to get my cat to eat some low-carb canned food and not the gravy-rich food she was used to, out of desperation, I picked up a tub of Lotus raw chicken. My dogs eat raw, but my cats have been totally uninterested in even a nibble.
I'm not even sure why I picked up the tub, but it was in a nice small 3.5 oz tub, so what the heck. Anyway, I warmed it up just enough to take the refrigerator chill off, and both my cats ate it!! I.could.not.believe.it. However, I didn't get too excited because seems like whenever I think my cat likes something, after two days they decide they don't like it anymore. I've now given them chicken and pork for three days, and both my cats gobble it up.
In addition, I bought some Stella & Chewy Chick Chick freeze-dried raw dinner morsels. Again, holding out little hope - even less hope when I took a few kibbles out of the bag and it basically seemed like formed sawdust to me. I gave my cat a piece w/o hydrating it, and she ate it. WHAT??? So I've fed it to them a few times now hydrated, and they gobble that up too - the chicken and the duck. I am in shock.
I notice with the Stella & Chewy, the first ingredient is chicken (ground with bone) which I know is good. The Lotus does not have ground bone. I actually think this might be why my cats don't like my dog's raw is because of the texture from the ground bone.
Below is the ingredient list for the Lotus Raw. Can anybody tell me if the lack of ground bone rules this out? I'm soooo hoping this is okay for my cats. This would be my prayers answered, for sure. I'd appreciate any help I can get on this.
Chicken, Chicken Hearts, Water, Chicken Liver, Dried Egg Yolk, Torula Yeast, Tricalcium Phosphate, Organic Dried Dulse Powder, Dried Miscanthus Grass, Egg Shell, Gelatin, Psyllium Husk, Salt, Vitamin E Supplement, Maganese Amino Acid Chelate
