Today I have a meatloaf cat :/ Didn't even go after PureBites, which I normally get attacked for. I'll give him a little time and see how he's doing, at least I have all the meds and fluids I need if it's pancreatitis again. Ketones only 0.2.

Feel better, Mr Kitty. Is this a cab hangover? :( don't make mama worry, especially on a holiday weekend.
I was wondering if it might be the cab but it seems like more than that. I might have brought out the big guns a little too fast but better safe than sorry when I can't keep a close eye.

That is on the low end depending on the concentration. I gave Max .2-.3. Do you think the breathing is from pain? How’s the rate? This would make me very nervous if it never happened before and I would call the vet.

Poor Mr. Kitty. This seems low since I dose q8 and Butters gets .12mL of a high concentration of oral bupe: .5mg/mL. Usually her vet gives people .2mg/mL or .3mg/mL. I would call a vet about the panting for sure.

How much does Mr. Kitty weigh? Dosing is usually based on weight, and there is a range. Neko (14 ish lbs) got .22 ml of a 0.3mg/mL concentration twice a day. I've also seen a 0.5mg/mL concentration.

If he's not hot - only time I saw Neko open mouth breathing - I'd call the vet.

Ollie got 0.15 ml every 8 hrs. She could have up to 0.3 ml every eight ( was started on this dose originally).

One thing I learned was not to stop it abruptly or to soon. Better to taper down. If showing signs of discomfort go back up. Try again in few days.

Around 13 lbs.

Last time this happened was when he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. I've been syringing stuff all day, vet closed til Tuesday. He seems ok now but I'll definitely look at upping the dose as soon as I can get kids to bed

*Best guess is pain, really seems like pancreatitis again

@Wendy&Neko if you're still around, guess as to dose tonight? So far he's willingly eating the syringed stuff, just will not eat on his own. But I'd rather keep him a little higher tonight if possible because I am just dead on my feet. I was thinking 10U? Or do I need to drop further?

The greens you saw today were likely from the 13 unit depot. The larger depot can influence 4-6 cycles after a reduction. If you do a BCS (big chicken shot) and you want to make sure the depot isn't going to keep influencing the cycle, you could try a half dose. Though the depot could still influence the early part of the cycle. No guarantees.

I went with full dose, I just don't want to lose momentum. DH and I can alternate, so baby aside we should each be able to get 3-4 hr stretches.

Mr Kitty spit out bupe and Cerenia, sigh. I didn't see it come out the other side until after I gave water...which landed on it and dissolved it. And I assume another small puddle may have been bupe.

He's ok, no more panting, just will keep up with syringing food and water for now.

Anyone around knows anything about bipe dosing? @Butters & Lyla @Liz & Minnie (?) @tiffmaxee

He's started open mouth panting, I gave 0.1mL bupe 6 hrs ago. Instructions from vet say q12. It doesn't say concentration.
Sorry I'm late replying, haven't been here. I don't know anything about bupe I'm afraid. Minnie's open mouth breathing has happened a couple of times - first time, I'd dissolved cerenia and syringed it into her mouth, she drooled a lot and then open-mouth breathing. I took her to the ER, they sent her home blaming the cerenia then I ended up taking her back that night and she had a DKA (in my days before testing). BUT you've already eliminated that with your ketone reading. The other time she did was definitely ketone-related. Lots of words to say, I don't have any experience that can help here, sorry.

Poor Mr Kitty and poor you...this always seems to happen on a holiday weekend. Hope he starts eating on his own again soon and you can get a reasonable amount of sleep. :bighug::bighug:
