BG levels Going down

Hi A Fae, You need to reduce to .25, and it should have happened last night when you got the 48 at PMPS. If you're following TR, you don't shoot any number below 50 and immediately reduce the next dose by .25.

Ok BG 101 shot .25 will check at +1
It was not as hard to get .25 into the syringe as I thought. I just over filled, got bubble out, and twisted out excess. Hope it's right.

Yes, this was fine.

When you first use a syringe, push the plunger all the way in to see if it lines up with the printed zero line. A lot of syringes have their markings way off and that affects the accuracy of the dose.

+2 is 89. There is a small lump in Ben's ear that I jave been taking blood from. Any ideas?

I read about many problems with the lines. When I started using syringes I went through them. I sorted them by ones with lines closest to the end and not as close. I used the not so close to dose .75 closest to dose .5 and now .25 Now I'll just use the ones that are the most accurate. I push plunger in n out making sure it's not sticking, push to end holding there then draw a larger amount. I flick the bubble to top then turn plunger to mark (or inbetween) I need. .25 is just so small, like 1 drop. Believe it or not I am a scientist. Animal and plant biology before my brain injury. I have worked in labs.
Thanks for that as dosing amount is critical.

Didn't understand. Do you mean that a poke has caused a lump to form?
It looks that way. A small lump has formed in the ear where I poke for blood. Thinking it could be infection. I see bruising now too. I'll take him in for a vet check.
I'll try warm compress first. The vet here wanted to put him down when BG was 463

If you poke the marginal vein there can be some bruising but it goes away in a few days. Just avoid poking that area for the next few days?

There is some ear care advice in this sticky:

Do you alternate ears and poke in different spots along the ears edge?

Been using left ear as right wouldn't bleed enough. I know how to get blood better now I'll change ears. Using a pill bottle with warm water. Also, temperatures are now over 100F his ears are not cold now.

WoW .1 would be about 1 drop. I will try when the time comes

That's why a lot of us use callipers for dosing
I watched the video and was considering calipers. But, now I don't think I'll need it. I had an old ring style lighted magnifier that I got rid of just 2 years ago. Sure wish I had it now.
My close up vision is good and better with reading glasses. I just shine a bright light and put on my readers :joyful:

I use the zoom feature on my smartphone camera. Much better than a magnifier.

+2 is 92 I'll try to stay up for a +3

I thought since he was sleeping on top of his tree I would put him back after testing. Oh no, he came and got me so he could have his "turkey lurkey" treat.
