Still no acro results...

Levemir magically showed up today. It's best if I start it tomorrow, because I can be around 24/7 tomorrow and Saturday. Sunday we'll be out of the house early afternoon.

@Wendy&Neko I had just increased dose this morning to 15U thinking I had another day or two. Should I go with 10U Levemir tomorrow morning?

In most cases when switching from Lantus to Levemir it would be recommended to reduce by 70% when switching, since some kitties can have a strong reaction to the switch. My fella did not, but he always did things his way .

You have been getting some consistent am mid cycle greens on 14u, so taking that into consideration, I don't think I would do 10u. I might scale it back a wee bit more, and suggest starting with 9u or perhaps 9.5u of Levemir, again just because it can happen that there is an immediate strong reaction with the switch. Let's see what Wendy's thoughts are, but that's my logic FWIW ;)

I was considering the same thing. I don't want to lose the good numbers, but at the same time with the IAA I'm not sure I want to be fighting the Lantus Depot plus the chance that the antibodies don't react. Balancing act for sure. Vet's inclination was a half dose but he's never had an IAA cat before

I agree with you, definitely not a half dose, I'm cautious, but not that cautious ;). I'm just pondering how much credit to give the recent greens, plus as you say IAA is in the mix. Good luck with the switch, it does feel a little like re-learning things all over again. I had to get used to the occasional preshot being nadir, and shooting. That was probably the hardest adjustment, mentally. Maybe too, a slight adjustment to feeding routine, since onsets for us are typically later than they were on Lantus, but we do tend to get much better duration with Lev.

Yep. 70% of old dose for starting Lev. Good luck with it. Frustrating to wait on those acro numbers, isn't it. I hope Mr. Kitty has no notion of any of it and is a happy guy!

I agree with Christie on starting dose. And let's see where he is after 4 cycles on Lev, we might be able to fast track him up if you need to.

Speaking of late nadirs, PMPS 129. I'll see how he does tonight, but leaning more towards 9U in the morning
