Good evening all,

Pearl continuing to be ok in my absence. I am boycotting work and will be staying home tomorrow, so I can get more tests in.

Tomorrow we go down to 1.5U. HUGE deal for us! I also just realized tonight I had my calipers inappropriately set so what i had been calling "1.75U" was a skinny 1.75. So tomorrow is not an entire 1/4U reduction.

At some point over the weekend when she settles into the new dose, I have to try to get her eating different food. I can't find anything appropraite that is 3% carb so we will have to go lower. That may affect her BG so that she drops more quickly I really hope not.

Surf safely kitties.

Hi Margaret...
So happy to hear your girls are doing well while you're at work now. It must be a big change for you.:)
I was also thinking about your food dilemma... are there two foods you could mix together to make 3%? I do that with Missy. I haven't been able to find one she likes that is around 8% so I just do a mix of two appropriate carbs. It's just a thought...it might give you some more options.
Good luck with her reduction...:bighug:

Hi Tammy!

I was thinking about mixing her 0% carb with the MC (11%) to see if I could add like a teeeny drop of the 11% (which she loves) to the 0% (which she just tolerates). I figure if I give 3x more 0% than 11%, that would make about a 3% blend (if I did my math correctly). Of course, if I did the math wrong, Pearl's numbers will definitely show it.

It is so hard to find ANY wet food she will eat regularly, I am so nervous about trying more new foods and possibly putting her off more in terms of food interest.

Hope you and Missy are doing well - I have been checking out her spreadsheet when I log in!

Hi Margaret! Does Pearl just do better on a really low carb (3% ) food? I'm sure you've experimented with carb percentages and are doing this for a reason.

How is Chessie?

Hi Suzanne! Yes Pearl is ultra carb sensitive. 3% is actually decently high for her but it holds her real steady. If I go lower she will start having more frequent drops under 50. Higher she will fly too high in general. Carbs just really affect her. For example when she goes under 50, 11% carb is usually enough to pull her up.
