5/18, Susie, 227 AMPS

Just seeing that dip at the end of her AM cycle yesterday. That's quite a dip even for a Lantus double dip.
Haven't read yesterday's condo, but with that higher +2 last night, the HC was not needed :-)

Let's see what she has in store for us today!

Do you feed at +1? That would help lessen the dive at +2.

I didn't feed at +1. Was going to do it at +2. I am afraid she is going to bounce. It is +1.5 right now. Should I go ahead and feed a tsp of l/c and then check at +2.25?

Went ahead and gave 1 tsp l/c and will test at +2.25.

Sorry. Only just seeing this. What is your usual feeding schedule like?

I usually give 1/2 can l/c at AMPS. Then I have been giving 1/4 can of low carb at +2 and +4. Then I will give 1/2 can of l/c at +6. So, she is getting around 1 1/2 cans of l/c in the am cycle. I don't feed anything other than a few treats the rest of the day until PMPS. At PMPS I have been giving 1/2 can of l/c and then 1/2 can of l/c around +2 or +3. I sometimes leave 1/2 can around +5 if she looks like she is going down but most of the time she only gets 1 can of l/c in the pm cycle.

Ok. I was wondering if breaking up the PS meal into PS and +1 might help with the diving she does at +2. But thus far it's still occasional. Let's see if that changes as her numbers improve.

260 @+2.25. Looks like I get to relax today. Wonder if the high +2.25 is a bounce or a result of the reduction - or both?
Both. I often see wonky numbers after a reduction - part of which is also the bouncing from the lows which earned the reduction.

Just get a +8 or +9 to be on the safer side? In case she decides to do an end of the cycle slide like the AM of 5/15.

Okay, I might get a +6 too. It used to be her nadir but I don't know anymore. I am very happy to give her little ear a bit of a break today. Thank you!

@Bandits Mom As requested, she was 231 at +9. What should this tell me? That her PMPS may be lower? Do you think she will get through this bounce today and return to more normal numbers tomorrow? I know every cat is different.

Looks like a normal bounce after hitting those nice numbers yesterday - give her a little time to come back down. Her liver has just gone into overdrive to dump that load of stored up glycogen - sometimes it stalls and then releases a tad later than you expect - sneaky little devil! Who can say why these livers wait to unload...but they do. I've seen it..

The sugar will clear from her bloodstream soon..just be patient and ride this one out...she'll be back getting another taste of that surfboard soon :)
