After two days of hypoglycemia I was determined to not give any insulin. And today he is at a normal BG without insulin. I think his higher morning BG is a bounce, and his high blood sugar was from all the infection he was carrying.
Is this a possibility? I am going to continue to monitor his BG just in case.

Please continue to monitor. Your numbers are confusing to me. For instance, yesterday you got 44 @6:55, 57 @7:05, 251 @7:15, 115 @7:25, 115 @ 7:35 and 96 @7:40. First of all, I don't think you need to test that much. Maybe 3 times in an hour when Inky is really low (i.e.44). You say you got a 251 @7:15. That is pretty high sandwhiched in between the 57 @7:05 and the 115 @7:25. Could that 251 be a mistake? I think you made a good decision not to shoot this morning but with those other really high numbers yesterday I'm just not sure. One way or another you should have a least taken a reduction to .25 with those lows yesterday. Let's see what the experts say.

Yes, the higher numbers are due to bouncing from those lows he saw. And yes, infections and inflammation can cause BGs to rise.
For now the Lantus depot is still at play despite the skips. Once it drains, you should have a clear idea of how Inky is doing without insulin.

I test because I am frantic with worrying.
With no insulin in over 24 hours, he should be okay. Was the last shot yesterday in the AM?

At +2 he was 185. Will check before I go to bed which will be in an hour or so.
Good plan, Cindy. Get at least one more test, and post it, before you go to bed. I am amazed that your Inky went from blacks to no shot and seems to be in good numbers. I have never seen anything like this. Looks you will be able to sleep tonight - along with your pretty, black boy. You are not far from me. I am in Merritt Island. Sleep well you two.

195 at +3 good nights

I don't think there is anything wrong with the 185, Suzanne. Inky has not had insulin in three cycles and did hit the reds yesterday. I think this is great unless I am missing something. Cindy should have a very restful night tonight.
Oh yes. She should have a restful night for sure. I just hate to see him flying up again because he has a tendency to go VERY high, which nobody wants to see in their kitty. And I understand that he hasn't had insulin for a while now. I looked at the spreadsheet. I was just hoping he wouldn't climb that high because I'm sure that by tomorrow morning he's going to be really high and high and I hate to see that sweet baby having such high glucose. But it's a marathon...
