I sure would like to be able to get him back in the blues. I did it with R yesterday, but it's still not sustainable because it's so short acting. I really can't have him in the yellows, unless it very low/borderline with blue, because of his kidneys. I won't allow it, if I can help it. I don't have time on my side with regard to his kidneys so I can't just use the old platitudes on myself like... "high glucose kills slowly" etc. I'm just talking about getting a cat into the blues. I am actually going out to lunch with my husband today and so I don't think I can give the R -- unless it works out that I give a small amount because I won't be gone that long -- and can get home in two hours to test (for Darcy it takes at least 2 hours to see a drop with R). We will see. The Lev doesn't seem to be working as it should at this dose. Once the R wears off he starts to rise again.
Oh well... nobody wants to hear my ranting. The more interesting thing is how happy and snuggly he has been this morning. He's been wanting to get really close and he has been purring a lot while lying next to me. And he got up into the window to do some bird watching since there's a feeder right outside his window. He hasn't done that in a long time... now if he would only EAT! I'm off to give fluids and food now because I have to get out of here before too long for that lunch
and I still have other cats to take care of as well. Rushing... rushing...

. Happy cat, stressed out mama. One of those times where if you didn't know the numbers and just observed his behavior, your own mental health would be a lot better. Before I was poking her ear here, that's all the previous IM would ask - how is she doing clinically? And I would have to ask what she meant! And usually it was - she's doing fine 'clinically'. Now I have all these other numbers to check.... I don't know how you do it with other cats as well. I am in awe.
