Had a bad day with glucose numbers yesterday plus Susie's her appetite waned a little last night. She may be getting tired of the milk thistle powder I put in at PMPS. I'll keep an eye on her eating today. She did eat almost all of her breakfast.

I'll be gone all morning but will leave some lc food for +4. She still pretty high so I'm not going to worry.

Good morning Summer. :) Hope Susie does better today. Slide down those numbers little Susie but surf safely. Have a great day Summer. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Awwww. Poor girl. If you think it's the milk thistle ruining the taste of her food, perhaps you could give it to her in a syringe first? Just a thought.
Get out of that lemon tree, Susie.:cat: We want to see you sitting on the beach with your toe beans in the sand. :cool:
She had been eating her dinner just fine with the milk thistle for a week now. I think it might be something else. She is eating okay today so will try the thistle in her food tonight and see how she does. I really don't want to give it to her in a syringe but might try if need be.

Thanks, Suzanne. Seems this dose isn't going to do much good either.

How is she:cat::bighug::bighug::bighug:
She seems okay. She was just in the Florida Room looking for her dinner. I am just disappointed with this dose as I have been with every other dose. It will seem like she is making progress and then we backstep. I'm a little discouraged right now. Will look at another increase on Saturday (I am SLGS). Just wondering how high I am going to have to take her before I can get her numbers into the blues. At this point, I don't care about the greens. Just want to see the blues. Thanks for asking. I hope Am is doing well.

@Marje and Gracie I hope you still check in on this site from time to time. I am so frustrated. With each increase I will have one, maybe two, encouraging days and then the numbers just go up. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to get Susie into the blues? I am becoming very discouraged. I am doing everything right with the SLGS and want the extra days to follow her progress because she will often not reflect an increase for several days. It will look promising and then she will sky rocket again. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. You were with me from day one and I really need your advice. By the way, this post is not meant to disregard others that are trying to help me. I appreciate everyone's comments.

I am no expert. And I most fervently hope you find a good dose that works for Susie soon. I just know exactly how this is... you increase... you think you are getting better numbers... it doesn't work. Lather, rinse, repeat!

More time, I think, is required to assess this dose (and you have more time on SLGS). I hope Susie will slide down soon or that you will find an optimal dose -- her dose isn't that high yet.

Also, you haven't had her re-check at the vet yet (this Saturday, right?) so who knows what that will reveal. I do pray that the liver enzyme values will be down to normal though.

Hang in there, Summer. We are all rooting for you and Susie. We really care. I think of you often (even when I am too busy with Darcy to post... I still am thinking... "I wonder how Summer and Susie are doing today?"

I didn't have time to type much earlier. If you look at Susie's SS from the time you started Lantus until now you can see the improvement. There is hardly any pink now and more blue and some green. It just takes time to find a good dose and get into better numbers. We have a saying around here that it's a marathon and not a sprint. Hang in there. :bighug::bighug:

That is very sweet and supportive of you, Suzanne. You have had your hands full and I appreciate you thinking of us! I'm ready for another increase tomorrow. Not too hopeful but I need to keep going up. At this point I just want blues. Even if they are high.

I guess I'm confused because we went for a pretty long time not seeing pinks and now I am seeing pinks. She is ready for another increase tomorrow and I'll put my "patience pants" on. Thanks for your support!
