4/16 Phoenix Sugar in Urine

When Phoenix was first diagnosed with diabetes last year, his urine sugar on the diastix stayed around 1,000. When his Blood glucose levels started dropping, his urine sugar went down to around 500 or less.

Now that Phoenix's BG is down to mostly the blue and green range, his Urine sugar has gone up to around 2,000. This is the highest on the chart. Can anyone explain why this would happen. His ketones are negative.

The strips are about a year old but they were accurate in January of this year. They are still in date. They were reading about 500 at that time. His blood work in January was normal and his urine sugar reading was the same as my strips.

Double check the info on your strips because as I recall once opened they have a short shelf life.

I looked it up and they are valid for 3-6 months after opened.

Thank you for that. I will order some more of them. That eases my mind as to what was going on. Phoenix is feeling great and acting like a kitten again since his BG has come down. I am so grateful to have him feeling good.
