Another beach and surfing day for Darcy! Too much R again, I think, although I have reduced it quite a bit over the last few days. Tonight, I will not be home for a few hours right after his shot so it will be a good time to see what he does without the R. So far, he has not bounced... so I hope he won't tonight.

Just a FYI, seeing a reduced need for R and those lovely numbers you are seeing is probably the carbergoline doing it's thing. At some point, you'll need to think when you want to reduce the Lev dose. When larger dose cats are rushing down scale, I have suggested using under 70 as the reduction point if following TR. That just gives you a bit of a safety margin. This is what the IM vets at CSU suggested to me after Neko had her SRT, and it worked for us. With higher doses, I do suggest caution, as the larger depot can really hang around a long time. Anyway, you do have R as a bit of a cushion now, but if you are still seeing the R dose drop a lot more then you are losing some of that cushion. Yet another reason to see how he does with Levemir solo.

Yes. I saw @Howiesmom mentioning the 70 number to someone else recently @Diane and Kierra I believe. I’m not going to give R for a few cycles and see what he does. Tonight his PMPS was 158 so I would not give R most likely anyway. But he’s definitely got something going on. His appetite is not that great. I wish he would eat more (although he certainly ate the FF Gravy Lovers today). Thanks for checking in with us and looking at the sheet!! Oh, if we do need to reduce the Levemir, then percentage wise are we reducing at 10-15% the same way we increased?

One thing to consider, as a kitty becomes more regulated , they don't need as much food. Neko's appetite got much more under control when she started seeing better numbers.

The under 70 thing is for kitty's on a roll down dose hill, usually because of treatment, IAA breaking, maybe glucose toxicity breaking. Not for all cats with high dose conditions that earn a reduction. Acros don't always hold their reductions. But it's always good to be conservative the first time, and see what works for your cat. Safety front and centre. As for Lev reductions, probably the same % size you went up. Again, part of learning what works for your cat. Know Thy Cat is even more important for high dose cats. Once Neko stopped rolling down dose so fast, smaller reductions worked for her and I went back to reductions at 50.

Ooooh.. You are on a roll (again). Thanks for sharing. You crack me up!
:woot: it's much better all round when Minnie's better.

But that clip cracked me up watching it - if I had more skills, we could photoshop to add YOUR Darcy's head and when he's diving into the lake we fade in his s/s numbers....cut to Lizzy (you) looking perplexed....etc

You must be incredibly creative and talented! You're just too busy to let it blossom at this very moment! How is Sam doing? I hope leaving Minnie alone somewhat!

And Wendy, I have a feeling that I will be seeking your input on a dose decrease soon (how do you spell doscrease anyway? dosecrease?) I'm actually a little scared to give him R now... I mean, I have decreased the R quite a bit and he just keeps going low (not crazy low, but low enough for me.)

I don't have a clue how to use photoshop! But I'm full of ideas. I think this is down to lack of sleep. I've felt jet lagged all day, without the pleasure of vacation memories to go with it. I'm sure most people here can relate!

Sam is such a troublemaker. As soon as he sees me head to the front door with Minnie's tray of goodies, there he is like a shadow...and if I don't see him, I know he's there because Minnie's giving him the side eye. Or he has a fit of the zoomies just when the tray is precariously balanced (like when I had to clean the grossness off the feeding tube). And he's decided that he is going to be picky about his food too, meows for me to put it down then meows as if to say "not this". Poor little guy, I don't have a lot of patience right now in the first place let alone for him and his shenanigans.

Sorry for essaying all over your condo. I'm killing time til PMPS. Maybe I should have a shower and get out of pjs...into fresh pjs.

I can relate about the shower and pjs. We aren’t always looking our best when our cats are dropping low or are in need. I took my shower yesterday and today at about 4 p.m. at least that makes you fresher the next morning. I have been afraid to leave Darcy’s side.
