Why do cats make terrible storytellers? They only have one tail.
Eek. He played really well this morning. Then when it was time for medicine routine, went straight for his litter box and just sat there. (Adding the fluids, yikes it took 2 tries yesterday and we surpassed his threshold for acceptable number of needle pokes per day.) And he's really high today, 444. He's eating well, though.
Y'all have a great day!
Update: phone call with vet. She thinks he will come back around. We'll be continuing B12 shots, taking a little break from fluids, changing back to homemade food. If he isn't better in 2 weeks we'll try the zofran. Also she approves of giving him a 3 day break from ear pricks, after he's stabilized. (Or maybe just one test a day.) He really does have needle fatigue.
Thank you everyone for help and support. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
