Hello everyone- I am on day five of dosing Mia with 0.5 units of Lantus. I have tried to collect data last night and today to narrow down her Nadir which seems to be around +4 - +5 hours.

Wondering if there are any other points today/tonight that you suggest I test? And then looking for next steps. Hold the dose or consider a change?

She is eating low carb wet and testing using a Freestyle Lite.

She’s looking really good. Yes always recommend a +2 and if it’s a lot lower than the pretest I would get a +3. Otherwise a +4 is good.

Thanks! I feel like we are making progress in the right direction and settling into a routine. How long should I consider holding a dose before making changes?

I just realized I shot too low tonight without posting first. I mixed up my preshot numbers. Mia is eating and I will retest and watch her closely. I have my hypo kit ready. I can’t believe I made this mistake.

It's still a safe number on TR - you just need to monitor since you don't have a ton of data. I'd get a +1 and +2. I'm sure @tiffmaxee will be by too

Yes. I panicked. New and the thought of a hypo scares me.

That's happened to all of us! She's had an excellent cycle despite the HC. She probably would have earned a reduction without it!

Thank you! I couldn’t imagine doing this without the support of this group. There is so much to learn about diabetes and I worry that the time I take to look something up would be the time she needs me to act.

Next time save the hc for at least close to 50. If not sure what to feed, ask. Nice cycle.
