Good morning, almost afternoon! For some reason I couldn't get the felinediabetes website to load this morning so I'm late getting to post. I decided to increase the dose after all, seeing as his AMPS is still in the 300s. You would think after all the increases I'd be seeing some lower PS numbers...or even higher numbers...or ANY different numbers for that matter! But we still seem to be in the same low 300-upper 200 rut. But the newer exception to the rule is the lower PM nadirs, so I guess that's something. :cat:

Hope everyone is well and warm during this next winter storm!

I don't think anyone could get on the website this morning. It took almost a year for me to see low numbers. Then, it was scary. I was too scared to leave the house in case Phoenix went too low. Give Cargo a big kiss and hang in there.

@Scdal Thanks Susan, I will definitely give Cargo a big kiss! I wonder what happened with the website this morning? Maybe too many of us login on? LOL!

Cargo was almost OTJ last month when he suddenly has jumped up to levels he hasn't been at in 2 years. Today he had a coughing fit, and I've been noticing a few of those lately so now I'm wondering if he has asthma. My vet is closed for the weekend but I'll take him first thing on Monday and see if we can get a walk in slot. I just took him in a week ago and they said he was fine, but now with a little more research under my belt, I'm finding that increased Creatine Kinase is an indicator that a cat is ill. Cargo has crazy high Creatine Kinase and they said nothing! Vets are very frustrating!

I wouldn't worry too much about the creatine. My cat's is always high because he is on a meat diet. Any diet high in protein and low carb can cause this. I try not to research too much anymore. You can scare yourself with all the diseases you will pull up on the internet.

Phoenix also coughs like you described. He can go days without coughing and then have a day or two with numerous coughing fits.
He has had his lungs checked and his blood work is fine except elevated creatine. My vet thinks the coughing may be allergy related. Like people, you can suddenly develop an allergy. I have noticed that Phoenix seems to cough more when his blood glucose is high. Try not to worry. I bet your cat is fine. You be fine too and try not to worry.

You're not kidding about scaring yourself! I've been through asthma to heart disease to hyperthyroidism! Too many rabbit holes! LOL!
I will try not to worry, but it's hard when he has been through this battle for so many years and I finally had him almost to the finish line and then suddenly he's regressed to such a bad degree. Makes me feel like SOMETHING must be causing it...
