FINALLY SAW MY DAD TODAY

Omg your poor daughter!!! That sounds aweful. I would imagine she always had to wear ear plugs or noise canceling headphones. Since its nerve related is there any kind of studies on b12 methylcobalamin helping?
Hi Janet, I wish she could put something on her ears, but she can't. No studies in Methyl B-12

Hi everyone, well first visit with my dad today since 10-6-20
He was waiting for me, knew exactly who I was, I guess it was a good day for him
today. Not confused at all.
I played some cards with him, we watched some TV.
I brought him up some of those marshmallows treats called Peeps
He devoured 4 of them lol
I had to take them away from him, he just loves his sweets

He looked good , walks very slow , he's got osteoarthritis in his hip
Did a little grooming on him, cut the hair in his ears and nose, that was always
my job lol

That sounds like such a nice day together! Your relationship sounds sweet. It's always hard to see those we love in pain (osteoarthritis) but being there with him likely made his whole week! Such a relief to hear the place was nice, too. It can be hard to picture, but hopefully he is making friends and enjoying his days. :bighug::bighug:

I have a lot of overlapping symptoms as Ashley, and can strongly relate to not being able to leave during a "flare up." I hope she is able to FaceTime with him soon!

You sound like a terrific advocate for her, and she sounds like a resilient person. :bighug:

I'm very glad to hear you had a good visit with your dad. Sneak him an extra peep for me next time. I hope the optomologist appointment goes well, I'm glad you get to be with him when he goes. Hopefully he will get Facetime with Ashley soon, it must be hard for the both of them to not be able to see each other. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's disease. I had never heard of it before, it's crazy that it's been around since the civil war. I will be doing research on it today. I'm glad she has you, and I'm glad you have this forum. Vent all you need, and take all the time you need away. I'm so sorry, I wish there was something I could do to help ease her pain and your grief. You have such a loving heart, even when it feels like it's all too much. You say you are no saint, but I know some kitties that would beg to disagree. I will keep both you and Ashley in my prayers, strength to you both :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Tyler's numbers are still looking great, hopefully he will put his big boy pants on and get his numbers down quickly after his dental appointment. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Aww thank you Sydney, yes do you believe that it's been around since the civil war.
Most doctors haven't even heard of it, I have to explain it to them.
One thing they try is Ketamine Infusions, you get then for 2 weeks and then after that
3 per month for 2 months. It helps some people but did nothing for Ashley.
Plus you have to do them for the rest of your life.

They can put in stimulators but there were so many people that had to have them removed because it made them worse. Ashley would never risk that and I wouldn't either.
Ashley misses him like crazy and so does my dad.
Thank you for the kind words.
Again I'm so sorry about Moo Moo, I hope you are doing better, she was such a beautiful kitty.
I still miss Perry so so much and I'm sure you miss Moo Moo like crazy.
Why oh why do these precious babies have to have all these diseases

I'm so glad you got to see your dad. So sweet that you did a little grooming for him. I did that for my dad before he died many years ago. You're a good daughter, mother, and human being. And you have wicked taste in rock stars. :) Hugs to you.

Hi Rachel, thank you, I'm so sorry that you also hear about your health issues, I really am. Praying you also get some relief ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Katherine, so sorry about your dad ♥I love all the rock bands from the 60's and 70's.
I don't know how the kids now can listen to the garbage they listen to. It drives me crazy. ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Janet I'll look into it. :cat:
I have a very little taste of what she deals with. I have a very large tumor that presses against my lateral femoral nerve sometimes. The pain can be intense and that's just in one spot. Fortunately for my issue can find some relief with certain stretches that glide the nerve to unpinch it. I can imagine this kind of pain being wide spread. When mine flares it's enough to take my breath away and grab the wall crying.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with that Janet. The pain with Ashley sometimes will make her vomit. It just really sucks

I’m so sorry to hear about what Ashley is going through. My hubby (Mike) is permanently disabled with vestibular neuropathy in both ears, and sometimes the flares give him TN pain/involvement - which isn’t fun. He describes it as pulsating, hot, burning, shooting pain like his ears and face are being branded. His face swells when he has a TN flare :( Not the same as Ashley, but daily pain, migraines, nausea, dizziness and balance issues are something he is intimately familiar with. Luckily, he doesn’t have sound sensitivity, as music is his passion. Some of the prescribed medications were good, but actually finds CBD to be the most effective pain reliever. Botox is recommended sometimes, but he hasn’t done that yet. Good days, and bad days, of course...as is the case with most disabilities.

Our heart goes out to you and Ashley :bighug: And your Dad :bighug:

Hi Tanya, I'm so sorry your husband has to deal with all of this.
Yes I know TR pain is excruciating. My heart goes out to him ♥
She has tried CBD and medical marijuana, did not help.
Please give your husband my best ,he also is a warrior ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Diane,
Big hugs. I haven't responded because I keep reading more about Ashley's painful condition, and wishing something could help that you haven't tried.
Tanya mentioned Botox, and I had seen talk of it. It peaked my interest; I know people who have gotten a lot of relief from migraines with Botox.

Soft happy and soothing colors, and gentle streams of love to you and Ashley. Praying for help.
I hope the great visit with your dad sticks with you, and that Ashley looks forward to seeing Grandpa!
Lots of hugs.

I’m sorry to hear that. What may work is so unique to the individual. For Mike, he takes blood pressure meds (he doesn’t have high BP), NSAIDS and CBD by vape. The CBD oil didn’t work, but the vape did, once he figured out what % CBD he needed and sativa vs. indica. And when he needed which one. It was quite a science...Topical CBD, TENS or ice for TN pain, etc.

Hang in there Ashley :bighug:

I think he is a warrior and am in awe of his positivity.

Hi Jan, you are so sweet, thank you for even reading about it♥
I really appreciate it. There is so much more to it that is not even on the internet.
Thank you so much ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:
