03/07 Low numbers AMPS- 290 +6-73

Hi All,
I'm not panicking but was wondering if someone can look at his spread sheet.
On March 2nd he wouldn't eat which is highly unusual so I took him to the vet where they did nothing but give him an appetite stimulant and feed him some high carb vet food. That's why he didn't get a BG for the next two times. He went to 180 PMPS last night so I gave him have his lantus (1.5) but AMPS was 290 so I gave him 3 units and he is down to 73 now.
I just fed him a small snack, not high carb but friskies and will check BG in an hour.
Have we earned another dose drop so soon? Down to 2.5?

Hi Port Moody! Waving at you from the North Shore.:)

On you last post here, 2.75 units was suggested as his next dose. I agree with that, in light of what you are seeing today. I presume you are using the BD syringes? Pictures of how to draw those in between doses is in the Sticky Note on Insulin Care and Syringe Info. If you haven't already, it's a good idea to read all the Sticky Note on this forum.

On this forum, we determine who to dose the cat based on how low the dose takes the cat. I'm not sure what food you are feeding or whether you are changing it, but a lower 2.75 units dose should bring up the low numbers or nadirs (73 on an AT is safe but on the edge) and give you preshots you'll feel more confortable shooting.

One last note, a little more detail on the signature will help us help you faster. Here are the details: New? How You Can Help Us Help You!

And sorry for the housekeeping notes, but it helps us if you put the kitty's name in the subject line too.

We are at 53 no symptoms except being super mad about me testing.
I gave him a tsp of FF gravy lovers.

That is too low on the AT, you want him over 68. Test again in 20-30 minutes. If the FF doesn't work, you might have to add a drop of syrup or honey to it.

I know this isn't a dating site but I am seeking a home for this sweet baby and obviously I would feel more comfortable if it was with someone who is experienced with sugar cats. He isn't mine, I am fostering him to try to get his BG down and stable. Do you know of a resource for rehoming? Asking because you are local(ish) to me.

Add a drop of honey/syrup to that gravy. He needs to come up.

Have you tried VOKRA? I know they've had diabetics before. Maybe the vet's office has some leads? Shaughnessy in PoCo used to have some special needs around. Tagging Tanya @thebigfuzz who knows your part of the region better. I'm afraid my contacts are more in the TNR area.

Haven't tried vokra yet, I'll reach out. Thanks
