I'm very pleased with this morning's numbers.

I set the autofeeder for 5am this morning and got up with Buddy for a quick snack and litter box visit. He didn't eat it all at 5am, but he definitely had a good amount. So i think it's a big help that he can smell the food before the feeder opens. Whether that gets some insulin released or just wets the appetite, it doesn't really matter to me. Just that he's now snacking at +9 and it's definitely helping his stubborn morning numbers.

Yay

Looking good, Buddy :D Way to give things a shot, Mariette - skeptical or not, it doesn't matter :bighug: Keep it up, Buddy!

Yeah, whatever combination of things it takes right? Hopefully it sticks!
yes exactly - I sometimes feel it's a bit of a magic potion - like this % food at this time and this amount and this much insulin and the moon is in this exact phase :p

Also, sorry about misspelling your name (I get it as I have a tricky name for most!). My computer kept autocorrecting me even when I went back to edit it

Haha totally like a little potion. Or a house of cards :nailbiting:
That's how I feel now. Like it could all come falling down if anything slightly changes.

No worries about the name. I called you Elise once!

Beautiful day! If Buddy is eating at 5 and his AMBG is at 8, that is enough time for the food to drop the BG. The food + the insulin appear to be doing the trick.

It’s surprising how much of a difference even a drop of insulin can make for a cat just needing a tiny bit more support. We do see this often so it might be helping more than you realize. It was a good idea by you to try the food again!!!

Here’s an interesting SS. Check out the 2017 tab and scroll down to 12/7. China had been on 2 drops, then 1 drop and the BG went up so Chris added half a drop for a 1.5 drop dose and China’s BG looked better. Crazy, huh!!!

Thank you Marje!
I'm so scared of jinxing it, but it's the best day he's had to date. :cat:

I understand! When it comes to FD, I’m superstitious. Anti-jinx anti-jinx anti-jinx anti-jinx

Oh my goodness. I wouldn't know how to measure that out! I still feel a very doubtful about the drop measuring as it is.
The syringe I use seem prone to have a tiny but of air stubbornly trapped under the needle. With these drop doses I feel like I need some proper lab equipment!

She probably did it with calipers which is how I dosed drop doses of R insulin when I used it. If it was just one drop, I did it as you are but any more than that and the calipers were a life saver for consistency.

Thanks for the anti-jinxes! :joyful:
You’re welcome!! Can’t hurt.
