Previous condo!

We were able to administer 50 mls of fluid to Ruby today. It took some effort. She didn't "buy" the distraction/treat of tuna and Fancy Feast broth, and jumped off the couch three times after I stuck the needle in her before she finally acquiesced. It seems she prefers to be stuck on her side rather than between her shoulder blades. Now she's napping with a lump of fluid on her right side which I hope will dissipate in a few hours.

Thanks all here for your tips and loving support. It takes a village for Ruby :cat: to get fluids! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Otherwise, not much else new to report in Rubyland. Waiting patiently for Ruby's AM preshots to come down. Not sure the +9 snacks are enough of a nudge to her pancreas yet, but we will keep experimenting with and without snacks at various levels of LC to see if something works.

Healing thoughts to all of the sick kitties and hugs to you beans who love them so. Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Wow, what a beautiful girl! And Ruby's SS looks great! I'm hoping my Cargo looks that good soon! I have just started the +9 snack thing so I'll be watching you to see how it goes for you as well. :bighug:

Thanks, Melinda! It's been quite a haul for us to get here. Sometimes I look back at Ruby's SS when we started and marvel at how far we've come thanks to everyone here. Now the big step will be to see if we can get her numbers to stay in the greens. It will happen for Cargo too. He is so precious--I have a huge soft spot for ginger boy tabbies! I want to squish him! :bighug:

Afternoon Katherine, yay for doing the fluids.
When I had to do them for my Perry, Tyler's brother, I would put a towel on the kitchen table, the table was up against a wall, so I got one of those removable hooks by Command, they sell them in supermarkets.
I would just put it on the wall and hang the bag on it. Higher up so the fluids come out faster. Then I would just leave it there and put a new needle on it so it would be all ready to go next time.

Perry used to purr when I would give them to him and lay on his side and just look
up at me . He was such a good boy.
Yes the lump will disappear .
If you want the fluids to come out a little faster just squeeze the bag .
I hope she surfs safely and you start seeing green pre shots.
Have a good day Katherine ♥:bighug::cat: Kisses for Ruby

Thanks, Diane! My DBF is 6'2", he's the tallest "hook" that I can get and he's free. :p I pet and calm Ruby and put the needle in while he holds the bag, opens the flow of the fluids and holds it up high. Took about two minutes. We put the bag on a hanger and store it in a closet for next time. The process is so much easier with two people, and the moral support from him is nice too. :)

Lol. That's adorable that your BF is the hook.
Congrats on the subQ success. It gives me hope for success with Butters if/when I need to do it for her.
Also gotta say, Ruby is looking very good on that .1u dose:D.

Those AMPS are barreelllly blue...in fact, I think they are green :D Glad to hear you got a round of fluids down and hope Ruby is fulfilling her mouse hunting duties.
