I just tagged again. When you want to put your previous post on your new postI knew I would do the continued thread wrong, thanks. Though I lost my mentors. RJ, still high, 4.25 units this morning.
Question, RJ was on lantis for three weeks, still have 220ml left. On prozinc for five weeks. Can I switch back to lantis, if so, how many units? Thanks. Would like to use the rest of lantis at some point.. RJ really not responding to anything..
How many units?I'm sorry you aren't seeing much movement. Yes, time to increase. If we wind up getting up to about units, consider having him tested for IAA/ACRO. There may be something else going on here.
Thank you Janetoops number lock was off. hahaha 6 units.

The test was a couple hundred I believe. All vet stuff is expensive.Yes U40 syringes. Just bought 1/2 marking U40. Will up to 4.5 units tonight. Been thinking, why he is insulin resistant?
Seems like the more units, the higher BG. Back to 500BG. Don't know what those tests will cost. I'm in for $2,000 plus now..
What we do for our kids!!!
Thank you. I can only do my best. Appreciate the confidence.Don't lose hope. I felt the same about Buddy after not seeing any improvement for weeks. For us 4.5 units was the magic number where he suddenly started responding. I'm sure you'll see some response soon. Just keep doing what you're doing.
Go right to 4.5. Until you start seeing low yellows/blues, raise by 0.5. Actually in your case I’d probably try 5 u next shot.Thank you. I can only do my best. Appreciate the confidence.
0.5 IS a half unit. I'm saying you would go from 4. To 4.5, to 5, to 5.5. A half unit at a time. Your cat in these pink and reds is way way too high. A 411/379 on a human meter would probably be about a 475-550 on a pet meter. You don't need to start decreasing until hes under 90. Normal on a human meter is 50-120.So, Ok to still give 4.25 units when Raymond James tested lower than ever, 411/379 at 3pm.. That's a question, do i still give high units when he is testing lower??
Like you said not until he is in yellow/blue, then what dosage decreases to?? I'm no vet.. Thanks... Only have 1/2 marking syringes. Don't know what 0.5 would be.. Thanks!!!
And may change at 9pm BG...

When you want to tag someone at the end of your sentence , your last word leave a space and then type @JanetNJRaymond James last two BG' 350, 340, YEAH!! . Still shoot 4.5 units at 9pm?? Seen a scale over 200 BG, shoot, never seen a scale on how many units?
Should I start a new thread under prozinc? Thanks, don't know how to tag you!! JanetNJ.

If you want to wait a little longer that's fine but we really want to get him down into yellows. Not too much of unit increases? 4 units on the 9th, 4.25 unit on the 12th, 4.5 units on the 14th??
Forget to ask, how is your sugar baby???If you want to wait a little longer that's fine but we really want to get him down into yellows.
She's ok. No appetite the other day but ate better yesterday. I'm hoping she's back to normal today. She has other issues going on with ckd and hyperthyroidism, so the diabetes is the least of her worries.Forget to ask, how is your sugar baby???
I hope your little one eats better for you today Janet. (Been going through similar for the last few months with the Noodle.)No appetite the other day but ate better yesterday. I'm hoping she's back to normal today.

Sorry to hear that. Years ago, never had cats with so many illness or maybe they were never tested like today. We left our cats out in the day and they came in at night. Not now. Oh boy, I'm glad she's eatingAnd now she's running low 53 on alphatrak) and eating more. Lol.

Did she have some food overnight? If not it was probably from going hungryDo you think insulin upsets their stomach? RJ threw up clear yesterday but ate.
In some cases, yes I do but that's based on empirical observation and information posted here by other caregivers. Lantus can cause GI upsets in some humans, so it's not unreasonable to consider it might also cause similar in some cats.Do you think insulin upsets their stomach? Hi, mom, LOL. He vomited two hours after he ate. He's had several check ups. Thanks!!Hi Lee.

WRT throwing up clear liquid vomitus, I've found that my cats have done that when they have gone too long without eating (usually any time after 3 to 3.5 hours) but there are all manner of reasons why a cat may vomit. If it's just a once in a blue moon thing then that should hopefully not be a problem, but if it's any way frequent (even if it's once every week or fortnight) I'd suggest giving your vet a call to see whether they'd recommend a check-up.

I try to feed him one last meal at midnight. Thanks.Did she have some food overnight? If not it was probably from going hungry
Oh ok. He might have just had a bit of acid reflux. I wouldn't worry unless it's a regular thing.I try to feed him one last meal at midnight. Thanks.
Nice to see a yellow again! I'd raise to 5 this morning. Let's keep this momentum going.Wow, Raymond James dropped 200 points at + 3. Couldn't believe. Hope he'll be ok overnight. He ate, good apatite... @JanetNJ. @Critter Mom
