12/19 Henry PMPS + 1 66 + 1.75 41 +2.25 57 + 2.75 62 +3.5 65

I agree with Bhooma...great steering.

Yes...that trek down the dosing ladder can be grueling. It is important to feed as you are to slow down the reductions. I’m glad you’ve seen the necessity to make another change in the LC feeding switching back from the really LC foods to the 7-10%.

  1. Henry's BG Reading @ AMPS +13 is (87)
  2. Fed 1.6oz of 7% Carb
  3. Next BG Reading is PMPS +1

While we say shooting early is like an increase and shooting late is like a reduction, that’s really more for new members to br concerned with u til they learn their kitty’s patterns.

For Henry, you probably won’t even notice. I never did with Gracie shooting an hour early or late.

Theoretically, you should only shoot 30 mins early in the morning and then just shoot on time tomorrow night just to be conservative.

  1. Henry's BG Reading @ PMPS +1 is (66) --> 8:00pm EST
  2. Fed 0.8oz of 22% Carb
  3. Next BG Reading is PMPS +1.75 --> 8:45pm EST

I will proceed with the conservative method

AMPS normally would be 6:00am EST but tomorrow it will be 6:30am --> 30minutes later
PMPS will back at 6:00pm EST on schedule with previous PMPS's

Good job getting him back up.

It’s very possible this is still depot from the higher dose but I can’t promise he won’t drop below 50 again in the next cycle or two. If you feel more comfortable reducing the dose, then do it. There is no “wrong” here and doses can always go back up.

It might be best to edit the subject line so it just has the date, his name, and the PMPS numbers.

OK if I remain with the current dose (2.50) I should be prepared for sub 50's the next two cycles.
Since the DEPOT is realigning with the current dose of 2.50 the likelihood of sub 50's event could be diminishing?

What would you recommend to reduce or stay the course

Ok I'll go with the current dose of 2.50 and be mindful of a sub 50 event

If cycle 4 plays out the same way it is currently doing in cycle 3 could reduce at cycle 5?

I don’t know the answer to your first question. That’s because Henry appears to be on a mission but, since it’s just been three cycles since the last reduction, it’s possible it’s depot and the likelihood of the sub 50s occurring again is less.

In regard to the second question, I’m torn :p You are there and testing to keep him safe and it was just the third dose after his last reduction. He’s continued to run fairly low so that makes me believe the depot from 2.75u is still working.

However, Henry is usually carb sensitive and you’ve been feeding him 22% for a while and he’s only come up ~25. If it was depot, which should be waning, the 22% should have worked faster. I don’t want you to have to do a lot of feeding and poking again tomorrow trying to keep him above 50.

If cycle 4 plays out the same way it is currently doing in cycle 3 could reduce at cycle 5?
Absolutely.

I know I’ve been talking about not taking too many reductions too fast; the flip side is safety and I always err on that side. So, my tendency, in this situation, would be to reduce the dose in the morning to 2.25u. You can always take him back up.

Those are my thoughts but you are the one doing this and I support your decision either way.
