Tested Bell she was at 142, gave her her dinner and waited 4o mins tested again and she is only at 169. Not sure to shoot or what to shoot, any advice?
If you can monitor tonight I might do 1. I wouldn't do more because you fed so that number might be higher from the food. Next time stall without food.Tested Bell she was at 142, gave her her dinner and waited 4o mins tested again and she is only at 169. Not sure to shoot or what to shoot, any advice?

The vet didnt mention anything about it when he did her blood work and diagnosed herHi Sharon,
Does Bell have any history of testing positive for ketones or episodes of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)?

Well I messed that up big time, but she usually goes up alot more than that after feeding. I dont know what I was thinking, these lower numbers are messing me all up lolNext time you get a Pre-shot you're not sure about shooting, stall, DON'T feed and test again in 20-30 minutes. By feeding her, you artificially raise the number so there's no way to know if she's higher due to the food, due to the last shot starting to wear off, or some of both.
If she's high enough to shoot in 2 hours, you could do it then, but that means being off your usual shot schedule. You can work your way back to your chosen shot time by adjusting by 15 minutes per cycle or 30 minutes per day .....but that's only if you can change your shot time by that much
Im really leaning toward not doing it, I would rather have her higher than to low, she is starting to do better and I dont want to mess her up!I'd wait another 20 min or so and see if it's going up before deciding
Sounds like a plan. I had a low preshot tonight too.Tested again, its been 30 min, still at 169 so no insulin tonight, gonna test again in 2 hrs and see what she is at
Well I messed that up big time,
