With no mid day tests, any guesses I have as to what happened would just be guesses. It was six cycles after his last green, so if he broke a bounce today, he would be due for a green.
A bit more detail need on how the shot didn't go so smoothly? Any chance of a fur shots?
See, just guessing....
Hi Wendy, Not a guess but just wondering.
Well it was just a series of things going wrong. He hates the buprenorphine. He told the animal communicator last time we were using it, that it hurts his mouth and he doesn't like it. I usually give him the buprenorphine right after the ear test, I kind of sneak it in, and then he can eat. However last night I forgot, so I had to go later and pick him up again and take him over and give it to him..... and this was after the bad shot.
What happened with the shot was I try to move the shots around so I don't always do it in the same place. The place I chose, I put the needle in and it must have hurt A LOT because he bolted before I could squeeze the syringe, and really glared at me. So then I had to round him up again and then, I shot right in the scruff which he usually is okay with, but he was already upset and sensitive and he flinched when it happened. Maybe because the needle was used once already? Anyway, so I gave him the shot, then as I mentioned I had to pick him up again and give him the dreaded buprenorphine. So it was a pretty miserable evening.
Some nights things go well, other nights I'm just a klutz of some kind.
Anyway he didn't seem to be doing very well after that, and all morning (read: he had to be pilled which he hates too, it also took two tries, sigh) and into the afternoon. He just looked very punk and was avoiding me too. Glaring at me a lot. I just wanted to give him a little break, and me a little break too. He did perk up after we sat outside for a while.
That's the story. Some people, well they do everything right all the time. I'm not one of those people. Murphy lives here.
So do I need to be thinking about changing the dose any time soon? The vet at first really wanted him to be at 3 units. Now she is talking about, maybe something else is going on that might be affecting why his numbers have been so extreme.
