11/5 - GIDEON BLUE- AMPS=182,+2=182,+4=129,+6=73,+7=123,+8=162,10=183,PMPS=163,+=105, +5=134,+10=344

At +6 Gideon's BG = 73. If I didn't test at +6, but tested perhaps at +7, he could have been below 68, which would require a dose reduction.
This is where I am struggling to understand if I am just manually preventing him from earning a dose reduction.
What do you think?

FWIW, I've always read on the board to wait to see it on the meter before taking a reduction. I fed Jax's curves a lot and once his depot was super duper full, he'd earn his reduction (his first reduction on 9/11/20 is a great example...you can check my remarks for what I fed but basically I gave him a large snack and he couldn't hold on). Personally, I liked him having more time in the lower numbers - it's a great time for that pancreas-liver team to have a pow-wow on how to work together :bighug: I'm sure others may stop by and weigh in.

Jax's spreadsheet looks great! I see you feed him freeze dried chicken for a snack. Many times Gideon will get freeze dried chicken or Stella & Chewies freeze dried raw on his food. If I ignore him, he will eat without it, but many times I give in and sprinkle the treats on the top of the food.

I was just concerned that I don't see his low on the meter, because I am preventing it by feeding.

The more you prevent him needing a reduction and staying in normal numbers, he will level out like Jax. If a reduction is really needed it will happen no matter how hard you try to prevent it. It’s good for him to be in healing normal numbers.
