He was increased 2 weeks ago. Then back down to 1 3/4 and last night down to 1 1/2

Yes, but you weren't getting mid-cycle tests in then so we don't have any idea what was going on then. That's why I have stressed getting the mid-cycle tests so much. It tells a whole different story, doesn't it?

We have time to decide what to do at PMPS....you might want to get a +11.5 which would give us all 30 minutes to help you decide what best to do then.

Cats go up and down in dose all the time. We want to try to find the least amount that will get them into "good" numbers. If we decrease and the numbers go up, we just go back up in dose and try again.

It is a good thing that his numbers are dropping enough for more reductions. His PMPSs have been low enough for you to skip more than once. We ultimately want to reduce him down to NO insulin. He did not "barely" earn a reduction yesterday either, it was a lot lower than 90. Ultimately up to you but this is a GOOD thing!

Sorry just scared to mess with it. I don't want him to hypo and I haven't been feeling good myself. I have a bulging ear drum with an infection on top of it. The meds they gave me are making me sick ( I finished it last night ) and now it's giving me double vision so I had to poke him twice the last time so it sucks. I understand stand y'all have a lot of experience and I don't it's just hard to know what to do especially when the stupid vet tells me not to test but once a week and to out him on special food which I refused to do.

I updated his spreadsheet. I was trying to do it on my phone and I guess it didn't work

Good job!

Our #1 concern is always keeping your kitty safe. High numbers take time to do damage. It's the low numbers that can kill quickly.

The fact that you're still having so much trouble with your ear and aren't feeling too great is something we want to consider too. Better to let him run a little too high if there's any chance you wouldn't be able to test (or even if you just need a good night's sleep)

As for what your vet suggested...well, I think you can see now why we suggest the things we do, especially testing! If you weren't getting these good mid-cycle numbers and all your vet saw were the Pre-Shots, he/she might tell you to increase the dose!

I'd try to get that +11.5.....that will help us give you the best advice on what to do tonight. Also, please always make sure we know how you're feeling. The health of the kitty is important, but the health of the caretaker is too!

For now I think leaving him high is the best option. I hope by next week I will be feeling better. I also have Meniers Disease so I am just juggings things at this point and doing what I can do. The last time I tested him he just was kinda out of it but I think he just woke up. The dog was barking and that stresses him so I put him back in the bedroom. I will try to do the +11 1/2 and see where he is at

You HAVE to take care of you first. Adam NEEDS you to be healthy and alert.

You have a good nights rest! :bighug:

Thanks I know but this is just how I am minus the infection. I have done rescues for years but don't know much about diabetic cats. He is a first and of course he is mine lol But he is super sweet and we live him lots. I just have to take it slow. But I still get things done. Sleep is over rated anyways. My adult son is Autistic / Epileptic and has a blood clotting disorder. A diabetic kitty should be a piece of cake for me.
Thanks for all your help !

Yeah I think he went to get the dressing when he did it and I heard Heeyyy get outta my salad boy. I was like oh god no ! I spent all day poking him don't screw it up now with of all things a salad ! He tried to lick the syrup off my plate earlier from my waffle ..I was like nope nope don't even look at it ! ( It's make your own night )
Our cats are weird. A few will eat lettuce and other weird things.
