she finished a mini meal (0.5oz tiki/ff) after 4.5 BG and still dropping at 5, so gave her a 1 teaspoon LC topper.
is this fast dropping, or is it just me?

She’s safe. With TR she would not earn a reduction until under 50.
yes, but since she likes to go low at the end of a cycle, i'm uncertain if i should keep feeding 1 tsp at a time until she levels a bit? or?
and if yes, then LC still or upgrade to MC?

You could actually wait an hour but 30 is fine. We want to see a green nadir and I suspect that’s soon. If she gets into green and you are anxious then if high green give mc.

Well! Miss Kit sure is full of surprises today!

We don't normally suggest snacks in the later parts of the cycle, as it can shorten insulin duration. However, in this case, I think you can give a little LC snack. There will be other days when you want to maximize the surfing, it's enough today that she got there in a slow controlled way! I don't think she needs the MC just yet, but definitely keep testing the rest of the cycle. This is all excellent data.

Seems like the depot is close to re-stabilized on this 5.0 dose. Might just be the magic dose for her, we shall see :cat:!

ok, yes, we usually try not to feed beyond +6 bc we had read about later cycle snacking and the insulin duration. thanks for reiterating.
so do you think 2 teaspoons LC is a good amount?

I’d like to see her avoid a reduction too quickly yet spend time getting used to good healing numbers is my reasoning.

oh, that's good information.

she's done with the snack and acts like she could have more.
but i'll hold off until we see what she test in 30mins

Yes given her late nadirs. Once you stop feeding you want to see what happens without food of course. I know you know that.

yes, which is why i'd love to see something flat by 9.5!
and please, always feel free to tell us things you think we already know.
it helps with absorbing so much info to hear stuff lots of times.

Yes given her late nadirs.
thinking ahead to PMPS....
the lowest we've ever shot is 91 (01jul)
what do you think would be a good number for us to think about as a next step?
would 80 and above be reasonable?
or should we stick to the 90?
or?

You might not like my answer, lol. I think provided rising and at least two hours without food I would shoot anything over 60. I’d stall to see if going up. With TR most shoot over 50. Shooting low usually leads to a flat cycle. You need to be able to stay up and have enough supplies just in case. Think about what you feel comfortable shooting. I am suspecting you won’t need to shoot too low as a bounce is likely but only Kit knows that.

i don't dislike that answer at all if there are people around to coach us, we will follow the recommendations.
we are all-in for kit. especially since the switch to lantus and TR.

we have plenty of supplies and who needs sleep ;)

in other news
t-7min to next bg

60 +8.75

i call that flat since last snack @8.25
so no more food and we wait and watch?
or?

Yes. He just might earn a reduction yet. I have a zoom condo meeting and won’t be around from 9:30 to 10:30 Or 11:00 your time. Before you shoot ask if you can get help if needed if the PMPS is too low. There’s a rule here that if anyone shoots low and needs guidance whoever answers the call will stick with you as long as needed.

just might earn a reduction yet.

so when i test again at 9.25 that would be the last opportunity for a LC snack to get the two hours food free in.
seems like if she isn't flat or increasing, then i should give her another snack? maybe another 1.5 teaspoon LC?

thanks for the update on your avails.
so, what are we calling "too low"?
is that simply "lower than we have ever shot"?

Lower than your comfort zone. No right or wrong here.

not exactly what i was hoping for after the food bump to 83 at 9.5 from the 9.25 teaspoon of LC
c'mon kit, show us a little rise for PMPS

77 @11.5

78 PMPS
that makes her flat for the last 40 mins
gonna stall for 20min bc we've never shot this low.
anybody interested in hand-holding, that would be nice.
