I’m so exhausted I still have not been able to move the other cats or rabbit.

I need to get Alice to eat more perhaps. She is having a lot of hind weakness. Since I’ve moved, the bed is up off the floor now, and it’s higher to get up and down. I keep trying to show her the “steps” I’ve created but she jumps off the other sides. She stumbles and falls. On my side I put her bed and mats and a chair and keep trying to show her.

When she lays down with me she is weaker, more listless. How to make kitty stronger? Poor girl.

She also licks her lips a lot. Possible recurring nausea? I may go back to giving reduced doses of Cerenia daily and see if that helps.

When Max got older I bought stairs for him. I helped him up once and he used them all the time after that. I kept them out when I got my kittens and while they can jump they use them sometimes as well and have become a scratching post as well as they are carpeted.
If you do try cerenia I would not give a reduced dose as it won’t be effective. Try the regular dose asa reduced dose most likely won’t help. I hope Alice feels better

Do you know the mechanisms that make it work? Some drugs I know just need a full dose but that’s a quarter tab and she’s already such a small cat.

I would love to buy some carpeted stairs but it’s not in the budget so I’ll just have to make something up. I moved a wooden chair out further from the wall and put her bed below it for something soft. I have been helping her get down that way so she is partially doing it herself. In my sleepy haze I do think she managed to come up onto the bed somehow last night! I think. Maybe she climbed like the cerebellar hypoplasia cats would do, I’m not really sure. Maybe she used the chair. :)

I know that oral cerenia doesn’t work as well as injectable so usually you need the higher end of dosing. I wouldn’t use the injectable because it stings horribly.
