vet today! Going to get some chiropractic
Yaaaa I think I need to find a new vet... the only reason I brought her back here is because she’s holistic and she does lymphatic drainage.Absolutely not. You test enough to know what her BG is doing. Your meter will give you a weekly and monthly average. Spend your $$ at the vets for more important tests. I have NEVER had one at my vets.
Is your SS on your phone where you can show her your tests ?
Tell her of the hundreds of cats that have go into remission on Lantus. Bubba is one of them.
Nope, you don’t need it! Your SS and meter knows where her numbers have been for the last weeks/ months. Put your $$ to better use.Yaaaa I think I need to find a new vet... the only reason I brought her back here is because she’s holistic and she does lymphatic drainage.
she’s telling me to get a mixture of different kinds of homeopathic things to give her to help with the diabetes and keep a healthy pancreas. Maybe I’ll ask you guys what you guys give, because she’s still insisted on a fructosamine to get the “a1c1”
That was a pretty good clue she's uneducated. Especially since it and Prozinc are the ones the AAHA recommends.she said she hasn’t hear of Lantus being used for treatment
funny thing is she came highly recommended by a few people. Not sure whats going on there.I hope the vetty visit went well and you can find a more experienced vet.
First, if this vet is telling you that a fructosamine is the same as an "a1c1." there is no such thing. The human test is a hemoglobin A1c (HgA1c). While the results are similar to fructosamine (i.e., they give you an average of BG levels across several weeks), they are not the same tests. Since you have much more data than an average, there is no need to get a fructosamine level. You could add up 3 weeks of test data and calculate an average.
It's not recommended to pre-fill syringes because the insulin could lose it's potency. See page three here: https://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/diacare/26/9/2665.full.pdfcan I pre measure out Mimis syringes for the person that would care for her?
I think it may depend on the type of insulin. Here is a link regarding humans who can give their own injection but have trouble drawing out the insulin.an I pre measure out Mimis syringes for the person that would care for her?
The vets human father lolMimi's father is on short acting insulin or the vet's father is on the insulin??
Rosa, could you please edit your title and add the date - I'm not even sure what date this thread started...that would be very helpful. Thank youThe vets human father lol
