GA 01/24 Boomer is back home with us

We picked Boomer's ashes up yesterday and he's back home with us, sitting on my dresser along with his sisters Peanut and Snickers and his brother Allen.

I miss my sweet little boy so very much.

When Dr Larry and his assistant, Laura, were here on the 14th to help Boomer cross, I told them one of my favourite stories about Boomer. I had been sewing little pillows to use during the newborn photography I used to do, and I decided to sew one for Boomer. I put it down on the floor in the area where he liked to lay, and as soon as he came into the room he walked right over to it and laid his head on it! I was thrilled! And I laughed to see DH's jaw drop; of course he thought that Boomer wouldn't use it.

DH and I are doing ok but we both still look in the spare bedroom when we pass it, expecting to see Boomer laying on the desk under the window. I've even headed in there a few times to let Boomer know that I was going out and that Daddy Bean would be here to test him at 10:00 and that he should let Daddy know if he needed anything. When I get up in the morning I walk into the kitchen and I don't know what to do after 6 years of testing/feeding/shooting and writing daily posts in this forum.

Boomer called me again last night; this is the fourth time since he passed. I was already half out of bed before I remembered. I wonder why he is calling me. I hope he is ok.

Yes he’s letting you know he’s ok and it’s alright mommie and thank you ! He’s not hurting anymore ! I heard my mother in law call me the night if the day she passed with a little bird at the window chirping at 10 on at night ! It was her telling me she’s ok dnt worry ! It’s boomer loving you from beyond ! That’s great you can hear him calling you ! He’s happy you hear him ! Praying for your heart to heal well !

What a fine kitty GA Boomer is to call you at his usual time, when he knew you would be especially receptive! Isn't it amazing how much our kitties keep us in their thoughts, even when they are no longer physically present?

Judy, I know exactly how hard it is for you and your DH right now. But remember that our beloved kitties never leave us. They are always just a thought and a smile away. How lucky you are that Boomer is sending you love letters and that you can hear his voice!

I'm glad that Boomer is home, sitting on your dresser with Allen, Peanut, and Snickers. In our house Rusty, Stu, and civvie Alice reside on the piano.

I'm very happy Boomer is home now. I was never comfortable until my furry ones were back at home. It didn't matter if they weren't in the same form....they were home with us where they belonged. I pray that with time, things will become easier for you and DH. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Boomer senses that his presence is a huge comfort for y'all. He's helping to mend your broken hearts by reminding you that he's still there. Kitties are a blessing in every way. Whether they're physically present or spiritually. Their love is abundantly present at all times!:)
Turn that frown upside down sunshine! I hope you have a good day Judy.:bighug:

He is letting you know he's still there.

When Smokey crossed I didn't know what to do with myself. There was no more testing, making his food, shopping for his supplies, feeding every 2.5 hrs (could never get him to 3 hrs). First time husband I went out, husband says, this is strange we don't have to be home to give shot or feed Smokey, we can stay out as long as we want. We ended up eating dinner in silence and just went home.

It's not easy. Just takes time to develop a new normal.

Oh Judy...that's a lot of getting used to isn't it? A new schedule...or lack thereof.

I'm glad Boomer is back home with you - and he's reminding you from the other side that he's happy and comfortable - he's just letting you know all is well. Rest easy Boomer...go play with your butterflies and let mama get some sleep now. Heaven only know what a kind and loving bean you both were and always will be - what a lucky boy Boomer was to have found you!

Sending hugs your way...:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I know how hard it is, but it is good that Boomer is back home where he belongs. It's so sweet that he is sending you messages. I'm sure he is telling you that he misses you, but he is OK, and that you should take comfort in knowing that he is waiting for you to join him in the future. It's so heartbreaking when they have to leave us, but these messages are full of hope - for all of us.

I also saw the cardinal picture you posted on FB. Did you know that cardinals are a sign that loved ones are visiting us from the other side? Boomer strikes again!

Hugs and prayers.....

Hi Amy, yes a photographer friend told me that yesterday when I mentioned that I was seeing Cardinals frequently these last few days. What a nice thought, that Boomer is with me when I'm "out and about"!

Welcome home Boomer! Judy, I still do things out of habit for my boy Forrest. And then I remember ... don’t know how many times I took down 2 saucers for food ...

It is wonderful when they come to let us know that they are still connected to us and that they are all right. When you and DH are okay, he’ll stay at the bridge with his siblings and friends to chase butterflies and birds, mice and rabbits and lay in the sun and relish in the time that he was with y’all and your love for all those earthly years.

I’m glad Boomer is back home with both of you where he belongs. :bighug:
We continue to send comfort vines to you and your DH and hope that with time, you feel less sad.
Judy, what a sweet story about the little pillow you made for Boomer, I’m sure you’ll treasure it forever and it will always remind you of all the good times you had together.

It's always helped me bringing their ashes home too, but it's also always hard. When my cat Dutchess left us a year ago, I couldn't leave the house for 3 weeks without breaking into sobs. Boomer's calling you because he's okay and wants you to know that, that's all. He's letting you know he's still around so you won't feel as sad and worried. He loves you and wants you to be okay.

I'm so glad Boomer is back home, where he belongs. I have a small curio cabinet that contains all my GA kitties' urns, as well as photos of them and paw prints, candles that friends sent when one crossed, etc. I also have a digital picture frame on the top, that continuously shows pictures of all of them. It makes me feel like they are right beside me when I stand and look at all the things in the cabinet and at the photos as they scroll through. The pain does ease, but the sweet memories last forever.

I still write letters to my pup that passed 5 years ago. A therapist I went to advised me to start a communication journal for him and it seemed like when I wrote or thought about him a lot- he'd visit in the evenings.
He used to visit more...but they really never leave <3
