Good morning from Perth Wendy. And happy new year to you !

I am going back to work on 6th , so including today I have 5 days at home that I can test more like now.

After going back to work, I can test at after pm shot till +6 or +7 if I manage. After pm shot, I can best test at +2.5.

Weekends I can surely test more, as well as Wednesday before 19th Feb (after Feb 19th, Wednesday I normally away from home from 9am to 12 pm for 3 hours for some studies.)

How would you feel about a 0.5 unit increase next? Today is cycle 5. You could either increase tonight, or tomorrow if you think you'll be able to monitor more then.

The reasoning behind this comes from the Tilley's website, the place where TR started. They can be a bit more aggressive than us, and it's not something I would suggest unless there are extenuating circumstances like playing dose catch up after an insulin change, and ability to monitor well. So for any lurkers, this is a suggestion for Fa only. Here is the part from Tilley's I'm thinking about. Under Phase 2 - increasing the dose:
Alternatively, if the cat is continuously producing moderately elevated BGs (nadir always >=200 mg/dl), increase the dose every 2-3 days by 0.25 IU ( if the cat is getting a low dose) or 0.5 IU (if the cat is getting a higher dose). From this point onward test for ketones once per week, or more often if the nadirs are still >=200 mg/dl.

Fa is getting close to 5 units, which is where we would increase by 0.5 units under TR anyway.

What do you think? I want to use the 5 days left to get as close to a better dose, safely, as we can. The ideal would be to get her to a place that has nadirs from 90-149, but I'll take upper blues too. Nadirs of 90-149 means maintain the dose under SLGS, should you return to it. With a +2 or +2.5 every day, you could still theoretically do TR with the type of testing you do at night.

Thanks very much Wendy for thinking it through for our situation. I will discuss with hubby later today( still sleeping:banghead:). I am inclined to try but also feels a bit nervous, for the dose and also for my skill in drawing 0.25u or 0.75u (I mean if we increase by 0.5u and that means I am drawing 4.75u)

I will get back to you later today. Thanks again Wendy.

I will go with the 0.5u increase and start with 4.75u tomorrow morning.

We need to be out of home from +2.5 (8:30am)to possibly +4.5 (10:30am roughly). Do you think it should be fine? We will test at +2.5(8:30am) before we leave home.

You should be fine in that time frame. If the 2.5 is lower that AMPS, just leave a little food out. You should be getting back well before nadir.

Sorry about the 3/4 units - I thought about a smaller increase to make it easier to measure, but the clock is ticking. Maybe 0.25 unit next to get you back on the line.

Thanks Wendy. No need to be sorry it’s only me not confident. I don’t have the half unit syringe so I am kind of struggling with one drop mire or less always, but I will try my best to be consistent. :)
