11/25/2019 reduced Cinncy's insulin (lantus) from 2.75 to 2.5 around the same time started giving her fortafloria for gas and very soft bowel movements, no improvement in numbers so opened new pen starting 11/28 evening shot, numbers did not improve, 12/02 increased dosage back to 2.75 unit, 12/06 thought fortafloria was causing the increase discontinued use evening feeding, 12/07 amps was high, +6 was 82, got excited until evening pmps at 516, 12/11 increased dosage to 3 units, no improvement in numbers, should it be increased again? what would cause the reverse? do a reset? confused?????

First off, have you read our dosing methods Sticky Note? We decide how to change the dose based on how low it takes the cat, or the kind of nadirs you are seeing, not the preshot values. Those nadirs occur typically in the middle of the cycle, though can vary. Getting more than just a +6 can be helpful. That could be AM or PM. Many cats go lower at night, so we strongly recommend getting tests before going to bed at night. It is possible Cinny is going low at night, and bouncing during the day. The 82 you saw on 2.75 units showed that dose could get her that low.

How about mixing up the tests and getting some night time tests for the next couple of days, then we will have a better picture of what needs to happen with the dose.

FortiFlora should have no impact on blood sugar, though upset tummy might. What type of wet food are you feeding?

Thanks for your response Wendy, printed off the SLGS again, I am gone 10-12 hours a day and sometimes get out for a bit to check Cinncy, will set alarm for more night time checks

Cinncy is sensitive to pork products and the fortiflora has animal digest, that was my thinking, Cinncy was a raw fed until she decided she would not longer eat it, I was taking her frozen raw and making patties and steam them, she likes picking them up and running with them, throwing them around and eating them, now she eats Core Tiny Tasters, Nutro pattes, Tiki cat, Daves, Nulo, Feline Natural, she also gets 2 steamed chicken breast strips in the evening with the juice that they are simmered in, all her wet food is 0-3.5 carbs

Since you've decided to use SLGS, could you put "SLGS" in your signature. That'll help us help you faster.

That 82 you got a while ago meant you should have decreased the dose. With SLGS, you reduce the dose by 0.25 units if you see an under 90. And before increasing, you need to do a curve.

Sounds like she's getting a good diet, you could do TR if you wanted and were able to.

Good day Wendy, not sure if I should of continued here or started a new thread since it is still the same issue, tested Cinncy for a few nights, no difference from the days, one thing that concerns me is I had to leave very early this morning and not able to test and give a shot, when I got home I tested her as soon as I walked in the door which would of been her +3 and then again at +7, the numbers are not much different than when she had her shot, I changed pens on 11/28/2019
