Well I survived the ordeal although I'm exhausted as usual. Arrived to find her wearing what looked like PJs but she claimed was "lounge wear", hair uncombed, and her mumbling about a "wart" behind her ear that burst and the bandaid on it being stuck in her hair. GEES! Support worker apparently took her to the doctor yesterday for it, is calling her to remind her to take antibiotics, but she purchased bandaids far too large for the area needing to be covered. Have to wonder what the support worker was thinking?!?

SIL's attention was on nothing other than her boo boo and took forever to put clothes on since I refused to go trucking outside her apt. with her looking so disheveled. When she got finally dressed (20 minutes), she had put on a sweater with a hole in it. I told her it needed to be thrown out. She told me Douglas (BF) had said the same thing and thrown it out but she took it back out of the garbage. Did I mention my SIL is a hoarder of sorts and refuses to throw out the most mundane of stuff and certainly not any clothing her Mother may have bought for her many many years ago no matter what shape it is in. It's battle royale to get her to part with anything. I guess it's time to go over and do yet another major purge.
We managed to get all the Xmas stuff in one trip (thank goodness) but when we got back to the apt. and I was asking her what she needed me to do, she kept wandering around aimlessly looking for some blue garland for her tree that I seem to remember her looking for last year when we went through this ritual. Don't think it ever got found. She wanted to make another trip to the locker. I refused.
I think the support worker must have helped her pack up the Xmas stuff last year and they didn't even bother to take several other garlands off the tree so it took forever to get the tree untangled so I could put it together for her.
So having assembled her Xmas tree, 2 small lit up deer and stringing lights around her patio door, she then wanted me to decorate the top of her tree. I took the tree off the table (It's a 4 footer), put it on the floor and told her to decorate the top to her heart's content and then get the support worker to help her put it back on the table on Monday. Otherwise I would have been there forever. SIL has 3 speeds...slow, backwards and stop!
It didn't help that the weather here is crap.... slippery sleet and I didn't want to be there any longer than necessary as the roads were getting worse.
Got to go find food, ibuprofen or maybe a stiff drink.
