Need to find Chance a home by Friday or he will be euthanized. I live in NH. He is only 8 years old. I am not home due to working full time, being an intern at another site and being in college for my Masters degree. The only option is to euthanize rather than let him suffer from my inability to give him his shots. My number is ***-***-8724 if anyone is interested in Saving Chance. He is neutered and the most passive kitty I have ever known. He eats wet food only and is suppose to get one unit of Lantus twice daily. He is an indoor kitty only.

Yeah I know. I have someone who might be willing to take Chance ….it's still very much up in the air though.

I hope she responds (and the Mods will probably remove the number soon)

If she's working as much as she says she is (and I have no reason to doubt her), I figure she doesn't have a lot of spare time to keep up with the board.

The person I'm talking with hasn't flat out said "yes" either so I'm OK with waiting until evening to see if she checks in

She had posted 6 days ago in one of the other Facebook groups that deals with FD and there were a couple of people who offered to take Chance. Last I saw was they were supposed to contact each other but no update lately so don't know what happened. Still watching for news.

@Chris & China (GA) can DCIN post this or something?

They backed out of taking him unfortunately because he is peeing right now in the house because I can’t be home to give him his insulin.

I don’t know how to navigate this site but I think I sent you a message with my number to text me if you have anyone who would be willing to home him. His appointment is Friday at 1:30 pm and I can’t make him wait any longer or he could end up suffereing more than he needs to.

@Chris & China (GA) got this from chance

I will be off this site in a few minutes as I am leaving work and driving to class, my phone number is removed by moderator since contact has been made if anyone wants to message me with anyone who is willing to regime him. I am running out of time but I have to accept it either way because right now he is suffering.

Okay, you're about an hour north of me and I can take him if you're willing to bring him to me. I'll try to call you later or tomorrow and will also send a private message with my contact information. If someone else is interested that's fine, but in the meantime you can cancel that appointment.
Bless you Deborah, for saving this kitty. I am so happy to hear this, all I did was picture this boy being put to sleep. He looks like can beautiful boy getting a second Chance . Thank you so much, Will you let us know if she is willing to take Chance to you @Deborah & Muffy(GA) & Wendall

To Deborah and all who have worked on this @Chris & China (GA) and @Diane Tyler's Mom): thank you all for saving this precious boy!!! May you have the greatest of blessings.

I spoke with Chance's mom this morning and wanted to let you all know that Chance will be arriving tomorrow around noon. He's lived with other cats and dogs so the transition should go smoothly. I'm looking forward to getting him and hope he'll be happy here. Think this might be the 15th diabetic I've taken.
:bighug: You are awesome.

Oh Deborah that's wonderful, you sure did bless him with a Happy Thanksgiving.
You are such a beautiful person for saving him. After he is settled please post some pics , Have a nice day tomorrow

Chance arrived right on schedule and he's a wonderful boy! He doesn't really enjoy traveling, had an accident in his carrier so needed a sponge bath as soon as he got here. He was very good about that. Happily ate lunch and supper, and is relaxing comfortably. Doesn't seem concerned about my animals, nor are they about him. They are separated but can see and hear each other. He's going to be easy.

I've been reading through the sheaf of medical records and he's been through a lot - rescued by his mom 4 years ago as an intact stray with an eye problem, was treated several times for a painful corneal ulcer/ lesion which was later discovered to be entropion and properly fixed by an ophthalmic surgeon. Had to be hospitalized for a mystery illness. Then got diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago. Poor guy couldn't catch a break.

According to the records his sugar has ranged anywhere from 40 to 400 so my plan is to give him a day or so to settle in, see where he lands and take it from there.

Judy, thank you. I haven't looked at that in years. Muffy was very special and it was because of her that I found this board and learned about diabetes and so many other things. It's because of her that I try to help other cats. Someday I'll have to update it.

@Deborah & Muffy(GA) & Wendall oh Deborah I'm so happy he arrived and doesn't mind the other animals and they don't mind him. It's so good to hear he's going to be
easy. Good to hear he's a good eater. You are an angel for taking him, I'm sure that he will be very happy in his new home. He looks like a handsome boy, after he is settled would love to see some pics of him, Thank you again for saving him.

This is AMAZING!!! Thank you for being such a wonderful human being and may Chance have his chance now for a long and happy life, where he can feel safe and loved. This really is the happiest of stories xxxxx

Chance does not know how lucky he is!! First, he’s lucky his mom rescued him and got the entropion fixed and loves him enough to find a home for him; and now he’s so very lucky to have landed with you, Deborah.
